How did Jaensch find it against his old club?

I guess this confirms all the rumours of his off season woes.

Went to see the night game and it was a scrambly affair, pretty tough in the contest. Must say he didnt seem to be everywhere like he was when he was with Hahndorf, he didnt have Cheney to kick backwards and forwards to. He was nominated 3rd best by the Raiders but not sure he should have featured that high. Its clear one player doesnt make a team. Hahndorf would surely be happy to get that game out of the way, they certianly werent their best on the night but to have 22 scoring shots (mind you there were quite a few rushed) to 9 probably tells the story.

Looks like they forfeited this game.
There was a recommendation for junior teams to have their own divisions & not necessarily have to follow the seniors but it was voted down by the clubs & board.

Incorrect Cracka, no vote was taken, by the clubs or the board.

The junior review was dumped sometime between the AGM and adjourned AGM??

Something does need to be done with Hills Juniors. How does Kangarilla's colts play in the Adelaide metro comp on Sundays? Is there that little faith with the clubs in the HFL junior system.

Oh okay.

Surely it will be brought up by a club at the next general meeting then.

HFL forced them to SANFL Juniors, had no place for their juniors to play.

I thought the HFL had some recommendations to make sure they had the junior competition running correctly

Probably common knowledge here too, but Torrens Valley u/16's are joining with Ramblers in the RMFL for this season.
I believe TV had a fair number of players, so unfortunate they couldn't be accomodated somehow.

You can't say the three junior grades have been any sort of success. Have to go back to u/14s and 17's regardless of what the AFL knobs think they can enforce across all Australia.

Those recommendations were contained within the Junior review, which was dumped by incoming board.

Junior ages are determined by the HFL clubs, the AFL or SANFL have no say in this decision.

No worries Pete. I thought the AFL or it's community footy committee had mandated that there was only to be 2 years between age groups.
But then I didn't know how this worked with other country leagues that still had 14s & 17s.

What does everyone think about the season shaping up after 3 rounds? I think Mount Barker are a real chance to knock Hahndorf off today in an upset! Lobey just doing enough every week, once they figure out who fits in where, they’ll be hard to beat! Nairne with one of the bigger upsets you’ll see, think they will surprise a few after getting close to Hahndorf as well, URI still my tip to win the flag. Blackwood are always thereabouts at the pointy end, Lofty still a bit of an unknown, Echunga and Bridgey struggling a little along with Onkas who have lost some big names.

Most even the comp has been in a while, good to see.

Mt Barker not good enough. Hahndorf back to impressive form.
Still think its a battle between Uri, Lobey and Hahndorf.

Hahndorf still proving they’re hard to beat, using 0 points I think… Good win for the Roos and back to back losses for URI! They will come good.

So whats everyone thoughts after the first 5 rounds. Have I overestimated Uraidla with 3 losses on the trot and is it now just between Lobey and Hahndorf? with an even 4 or 5 after that and just Onkas and Echunga bringing up the rear? Or is Mt Barker a smokey and still finding their way?

URI will come good but wanna be quick before they cost themselves a top 3 spot to Mount Barker. Agree with the rest.

Hahndorf go down by 2 points to Blackwood and Barker go down by 3 with a kick after the siren to Nairne. Very tight up the top of the ladder!
