MID S.E. FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Talk on any country footy league or club from the SA Country area

Postby Down&Out » Mon Apr 23, 2007 9:49 am

With all the Cobb talk going on- can anyone divulge how he went- obviously didn't help them get over the line- was he worth the money on first impressions??

The clubs in country Victoria get huge support from their communities what with netball and footy at the one location each week so a lot of $ from drink, canteen and meals. Plus it's handy when leagues such as Goulburn Valley (Shepparton/Echuca/Seymour/Benalla) are all fairly big centres so there are megabucks available from sponsors with which to lure ex-AFL players.

From what i can tell most of the people who post on here are people who know about this league but live in Adelaide.

Haven't heard much in the off season so far, probably a bit early so far, Tant may have lost a few good players. On one of the other threads talk of a leading goalkicker in the SFL going to Robe, not sure how accurate/reliable it is though.

I've heard that Cobb was ordinary early in the year, but picked his game up later in the year.... not worth the coin ($900 per game, + sign on, + flights).

Also heard H. DeBoo played at Robe again this year, can anyone confirm? And how did he go? He was always a pretty good player and hard at it too...

Well they should be able to save some coin- I hear he has been appointed B grade coach at Blackwood in the Hills next year!

I read in the local Millicent newspaper that Simon Quinn and Ben Pyman are both a chance to play for Robe next season.

I think hes going back to Mt Burr, where he coached prior to going to Penola. From what i can tell on here, after a particular incident at Penola half way into the year he wouldn't have been welcome back there, so basically hes gone back to his "home" club.

Spot on, Wiese back to Mt. Burr.... an ugly exit fron Penola f.c

Benny Pyman and Simon Quinn have been linked to Robe, played at South Adeliade together, along with good mate Matty Bryant and are keen to play together again. all getting a bit long in the tooth though?
