Coaching troubles

I coach our club's under 12s team.
Last night at training we had the proverbial "scratch match".
Umpiring without a whistle, i called a free kick, the kid with the ball didn't hear me, neither the pursuing kid.
Everyone else had stopped, and the kid with the ball finally noticed and began to pull up.
The kid chasing laid a decent tackle, dropping him to the ground.
The tackled child, lying on the ground, rolled onto his back and booted the tackler in the nuts.
Hard.
The kid dropped to his knees, (as you would) and belted the kicking kid in the eye.
Both were on the gound rolling and crying in pain.
I walked up to lay some discipline, and then kind of thought they were even.
The kid who got belted ran off the field, and i called the finish of training.
What does a coach to to control this situation?
Has this sort of bullshit happened to anyone else?
I need a solution.

I've heard you're under pressure. And there's a coach in the helm ready to take over.
Players being keen to battle for positions is fair enough, but going so far as kicking others in the nuts shows there are real discipline issues.
The club's concerned about the on field discipline of your players, as well as off field.
There've been reports of fights with other patrons in the local playgrounds. While, kiss chasey games have also resulted in some concerns - too many players ganging up on the girls.
And in fact, they're considering a cordial ban at all after match functions as well.

Get your act together Silly Sky, or your coaching career could be over before it's begun!

I'd also try the age ol trick of boot lacing - sit the two offenders opposite each other and knot there shoe laces together, they need to spend the next fifteen minutes alone inteh pocket working together to sought it out, the longer they take the mroe of training they miss

Good idea but you've got to get them near eachother first.

Better off doing it with their wives, thats the major source of conflict (one wife in particular!!).

I will echo scoob's comments my old man was my u/12s coach and used a whistle the SANFL thought it was a great idea when he told them at a level 1 or 2 coaching course.

it must have worked he's coached 2 current league footballers who play at sturt and two u/17/19's at port. Unfortunatley on the negative side he also coached an injury prone hack in yours truly

Better off doing it with their wives, thats the major source of conflict (one wife in particular!!).

Where do we buy tickets GWW... they should do that as a curtain raiser for the crows games... might wake them up at least!!

if it was me, id reverse the situation, let the kid with the sore balls kick the other one, then he can belt that kid in the eye.
that way if it doesnt work you and the other kids get to see a bit of a scrap and isnt that what life is all about

Pull them aside and chat to them before training and try to make fun of the situation (Buy one a box and the other a helmet and get them to wear it during a drill but also let them know its not on.Also counsel the kid who had his dreams shattered and explain that he'll never have kids.....
