Thanks, if I read it correctly they can’t touch each other to get body position. Can’t take front position otherwise it’s considered blocking

I’m talking ball ups around the ground

That looks like what they mean by 18.4.3 (c).
I always tell my kids if they block you, jump anyway. People soon get sick and tired of being kneed in the back.
You always use your off-jumping knee to protect yourself, first and foremost. Then, if the oppo doesn't want to play nicely, it's all fair game.

The Advertiser wrote:The Adelaide Footy League has opened an investigation into alleged violent threats made by a runner for a southern suburbs club towards opposition players during a senior women’s game last weekend.

While the league would not confirm the specifics of the allegations, this masthead understands the alleged comments made by the runner were “I’ll get her after the game” and “I’ll pay $50 to f*** her up.”

Players were reportedly left feeling intimidated by the threats and the league was notified of the incident following the conclusion of the game.

AdFL chief John Kernahan said the allegations were of significant seriousness and could not put a timeline on the league’s investigation.

Willie Rioli deserves some credit for bringing back "i'm going to get you after the game in the car park" as a form of in-game conflict resolution.

Re: Adel Footy League- Women's

Postby MoP » Thu Jun 26, 2025 4:26 pm

Looking for thoughts on the wording from this week's The Update.....

Rule of the Week 3
WOMEN'S DIVISON - SANFLW
16. WOMEN'S DIVISIONS
16.1 A player who desires to compete in a Senior Women’s match shall be a minimum of fifteen (15)
years of age.
16.2 The approved size four (4) football shall be used for all Women’s matches of The League.
16.3 A player who has competed in an AFLW match in the previous twelve months (12) will be
ineligible for selection in a Members Clubs team in The League.
16.4 A Member Club’s Women’s Divisions promotion and relegation will be determined by The
League.
16.5 A player who played in the SANFLW League competition in the current season may continue
playing in The League (AdFL) once the player’s SANFLW team’s Home and Away season has been
completed if
(a) the player has played less nine (9) matches in the SANFLW Competition in the current season
and/or
(b) the player has played a minimum of three (3) matches in a competition of The League in the
current season prior to the completion of the SANFLW minor rounds.
16.6 An SANFLW player is not permitted to be selected in a match of The League during the SANFLW
Major Round unless they are eligible to be selected as per the conditions described in Clause 16.5
(a) and (b)

If a woman plays 8 SANFLW games and their team doesn't make the finals, she then goes and plays the last 3 games at her Adel Footy League club, where she played juniors. Is she eligible to play? And, if so, can she play finals for the community club? The and/or scenario of 16.5 (a ) and (b ) tends to suggest she should be able to?

No and no.

Has to have played games for local club prior to the completion of the SANFLW season.

*edit* Sorry didn't see and/or.. I was just under the impression rules changed to avoid players flooding back from SANFLW.
