Think the difference between B&Fs and Association medals is the consistency. You can win an association medal playing 7 oustanding games and doing nothing for the rest of the year and still getting 21 votes, whereas in our system you'd get 42 when 55-60 is usually a winning number.

Basically over the years ive been whitens to seeing the parents of players and friends of players, all of which have no idea about football be the main card holders. At the medal count itself ive seen players that have played just 10 min get votes along with players that have not even played in that particular game. And then there are the consistent, first 18 players, that ive seen finish even lower than 18th. Why does that happen? Because their parents are not figure heads at the club.
Is there a perfect way (or at least a better way) to run the B&F count??????
Which club are you referring to BOB?

all was good for 3 years until one umpire decided to suggest we were doing it to get idea of medal votes and told the umpires boss. we got phone call saying we could no longer do it that way.
problem with players doing the votes is we had a "Players Player" award done by obviously players
in which some selfish ones picked players that couldnt threaten them come years end
we even had a bloke poll votes that never played that game
took what should be the best and most rewarding trophy for a player into a farce

Ok, do you care to elaborate? eg. who do the cards go to? why less votes on a losing game?

The four cards to be done by the senior coach, assisatant coach x2 and a team manager this will differ from club to club but as long as these people watch the game [watch not look at...] and have an understanding this part is not really the issue.
The part I am keen to get some feedback on SB is the weighting of an extra vote for a winning game, why should player x who has 28p's and loses by 14 goals get the same votes as player y a week later who has 31p's in a side that wins by 5 goals? I'm not saying it is the best way to go but it does place more emphasis on rewarding winning efforts. The best player gets a 6 instead of a 5 and the sixth best instead of missing out sneaks in for a vote. So in a winning game if player z has 38p's, 4 goals and 7 tackles he could score 24 votes for that game [6 votes from all 4 cards] whilst in a losing side the maximum would of course be 20 [5 from 4]... Give me your thoughts peoples!!

I like that sound of this Pag! Especially cause there can be more than 1 BOG, which can often be the case. But does this mean that the chance of multiple B&F winners is increased? Cause i hate that!
