Bays were hot favourites with the big man Fidge in the square. When hodges went off just before half time things didnt look good but the big man came back broke the SANFL goal kicking record and led the maggies to a famous grand final victory, they were the good old days.
I was at that game and I remember Rick Davies was the boundry rider (and current goal kicking record holder). I remember the smug look on his face when Scott Hodges went down injured. I think he thought his record was going to be safe. Just think, that record would still be his today if Hodges hadnt come back in the second half. It's been a long time.
