Messenger Press Footy Preview

Postby Shirtfront » Thu Apr 03, 2008 10:00 am

The local rag had a double page spread on the teams in the local area, ins / outs, coaches opinions. Not a bad start to the year, atleast it might get some more people involved or interested in their local clubs. How long before the SAAFL or Sportsbeat Cut and Paste the same info as 'their' footy preview.

The Messenger do it most years from what I remember. In the Gaurdian they do the SAAFL and SFL usually. I know they took some photo's the other week so I suppose we will see it next weeks down this way

Nothing in the News Review out north. Aparantly the only club out this way is Salisbury North anyway, plus Fabian Francis.

The Leader Messenger had an article on the TTG v Modbury trial match this Saturday.
No SAAFL preview yet though

Leader messenger (north) has its preview out.
Bit lame actually. They couldnt put two and two together and add scuddsy to the 'outs' list at modbury, even though he was listed as an 'in' for us.
GG had comment from president but nothing from the coaches.

It was pretty lame. They spoke to our president who probably wasn't sure which recruits he could or couldn't name which is why he gave nothing away. At least if they spoke to the coach he would have given a few names. It's Round 1 this week, not too many secrets about who's playing where now I would have thought...

Yeah, pretty lame unfortuantely. I agree.
They had a line about 'third time lucky for TTG' due to it being our third year in Division 1... It is actually our second year!

The News Review put theirs out this week. Didn't even have a list of ins and outs for each club, just some comments from various coaches and 2 paragraphs for each club.

Anything is better than nothing though I spose, although I have a stab and say the Paralowie boys are probably pissed they didn't get a mention at all...

And in a seperate article, Salisbury West claimed to have 'internally suspended' four guys for season 2008. They managed to completely hide the fact that they've been deregistered from the league.

Internally suspended? Must be a code for "externally deregistered"...
