Would love to see more consistency and remember, you are there to assist the game, not BE the game. The best umpires are the ones that don't get noticed and there aren't too many of them in the SAAFL .Messrs Obst, Smith & friends take note of the above comment, you are not THE game. Heard a story about how Stephen Obst took his wife to all games just to watch him umpire, now wouldn't that be a great way to fill in a Saturday arvo. Who told me you ask? He did!!!

Having said that they have put their hands up to do a job, and are compensated financially for their time im sure (prob not worth the slander at times, noted). Its been say a thousand times but consistancy is the key, there's nothing more frustrating than an umpire making different decisions on similar occurances in the same game. And protect the bloke going for the ball, do those two little things for me and im a happy man.

How bout praising the umps for a good decision and thanking them after the game........ Im the first one to tell an umpire during the game if they make a good decision and always thank them after the game. Mind you I did not start doing it until I umpired on the first occasion. As I have posted before the majority of umpires are good, theres always a few though that ruin it and are out and out completely biarst.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Did anyone see that clown sent of the SFL Runner for the game on Sat.
After the game I enquired what the runner said and he used the F word asking him about a centre square infringement whats more the umpire wants to go to a tribunal on Tuesday because he states that its his right

Tha Runner for the SFL was Simon Angove a Glenelg board member and a mate of Rod Jamiesons who did the job for 1 match, well half a match so they could give him a life penalty and it wouldnt matter but the umpire still wants his time at tribunal :

I'm from the SFL and I thought our umpires were a bit precious and I certainly hope that yours arent all like this clown

The SAAFL has many umpires that are "clowns", a fair majority of them, in fact!!
