Sorry LK but incorrect
At Kilburn yesterday they were the yellows shirted security guards from Weslo like the ones at the cricket, AAMI, Clipsal etc

Yep i had 2 Weslo blokes look in my boot and some other bloke take my money. 6bux to watch Cgrade footy? No disrespect to the Cgrade boys but it costs 8bux to watch SANFL.
Thats what im talkin aboooouuuut!!!!!!

Unless rules have change club hosting a home final can charge per car only and ask for donation per person for foot traffic through the gates but if the person declines cannot be forced to pay.
Neutral grounds run by SAAFL charge per individual regardless!

The places games are played are generally PUBLIC reserves and clubs or SAAFL cannot charge admission or carparking unless the local council gives permission (which they will not do unless they are getting the income) as re the liquor licensce most clubs licensce a designated area NOT the entire oval and as such are not legally reponsible for what happens on the rest of the park..if there's an issue call 131444 and ask them to sort it out..if people are behaving responsiblly there is no reason to have them removed

I agree clubs have to recoup the money they pay to host finals but they dont have to be greedy.. and to charge admission to a game unless its a grand final is being greedy

We hosted a final on Saturday and recovered our costs with no admission or carparking charges

Dont blame host clubs for peoples behavour, all clubs need to manage their own supporters

I would be curious to know if WESLO were attending for SAAFL or the host club???

at kilburn sun ,i had a six pack of hot bourbon from the night before on my front seat when the weslo sec asked to search my boot..i told him to take a flying leap. as i may have had a dead body in there(of coarse this wasnt true).they said i could leave the bourbon there and theyll take care of it.....i laughed ,.drove out to the other side and walked in..... if i really wanted to i could have shoved it down my pants, the bourbon too......also the clown on the other side gate tried to charge me six bucks four times in a row....short attention span obviously

The WESLOs are only at games at neutral venues at which the SAAFL is on the gate. The security are contracted by the SAAFL, such as the ones at Kilburn last Sunday. Clubs who buy their home final wouldn't have any professional security I wouldn't think.

I paid $2 (concession) to watch a 40 minute C7 game on Sunday morning at Thebby. If I wasn't studying and was charged as an adult like a couple of the other guys I was with, I would've done it. Considering country leagues have to pay to get into every home-and-away game during the year, paying to see a final when it's on a neutral ground (which isn't that often, 8/42 games this weekend) isn't that big of a deal.

Like turk said, games that are bought by the home club are generally on a public reserve with no enclosed fencing like Kilburn, Salisbury, Campbelltown, St Marys etc. The home club will usually try to ask for a donation if you choose to park in the club's car park to help recoup the money paid to the SAAFL to host the game, but they can't enforce it when the SAAFL is not on the gate.

Pag..even with SAAFL on the gate I do not believe they have the "right " to check cars etc, this would mean they have liability if something went wrong and I dont believe SAAFL take any extra insurance of any description out for these games games..IMO it is a scam run by SAAFL

Turk, I see Greenacres are playing at home again this week. Fairs fair, they earned it but on another note is there going to be any work done to bring the oval back to scratch. The oval was pittiful last week. Cow paddock like. Do you play or just keen follower. I watched from Greenies markee type thingy on other side of oval. Was a good day all round. Funny blokes.

Bottom oval is nice but clubhouse revenue would go out the door. I played in Lloyd Rigneys record match down there.

I never mentioned anything about the checking cars thing turk, but you're right, they probably don't have any insurance covering it.

But it's the same with the SANFL thought isn't, not supposed to take grog into the ground? If we know that's the case, then just be smarter about the way you do it and don't leave it in the boot of the car.

Unless you're at Salisbury, in which case, there should be a BBQ/Bar on the hill this week that you can purchase from.
