The SAAFL should have an officer responsible for checking whether clubs are undertaking any such training and fine/remove premiership points for any offending clubs. It's getting ridiculous when clubs have to start earlier and earlier each year to keep up with eachother.

I think March is a bit rough there Shrek, maybe mid January, I do think it is getting ridiculous though, it is the "amateur" league.

some of us need the earlier starts to lose the excess drinking weight that has been out on since footy finished

Kilo is a wise man. I can't say Saturday night did me no favours haha
However, I have noticed a trend of starting pre-season earlier. Professionalism appears to be filtering down the leagues/grades in that effort to get a competitive edge over your opponents. It's just evolution of the league. If people get fitter and more skillful, is that a bad thing?

McLaren Football Club
Based on the edge of suburbia in the great town of McLaren Vale - surrounded by grape vines, birds singing and kangaroos hopping around in the paddocks near by.
McLaren football club is a growing family orientated club based in the Great Southern Football League. We have modies (U9), Minis (U12), Junior Colts (U14), Senior Colts (U17), B grade and A grade. We have a very successful group of up and coming juniors with our Junior Colts having just won back to back premierships and our senior colts winning their premiership last year and making the grandfinal again this year![]()
We have a young list of very capable seniors at our club who need just one or two more pieces in the 'jigsaw puzzle' to complete an all round club and hold us in good stead for years to come.
So if you think this sounds like a great place to be.... it is !!
If you think you are the missing 'piece of the jigsaw' then give us a buzz... we'd love to hear from you![]()
The future looks bright at McLaren![]()
