better effort in B's yesterday. Good to see. No improvement in A's yet going on round 1 and round 9 results. Might be time for Hogan, Collins etc. to get a run in A's

Well done to all..
This is what rebuilding is about...
This is written by a guy that is highly respected in higher sporting circles than Div 5 footy.

To the Ingle Farm Football Club Committee:

I would just like to congratulate the Club on the way that they conducted themselves on Saturday.

Not wishing to sound patronising, as regardless of final score line in the A Grade, the commitment, enthusiasm and even enjoyment was clear for all to see.

We finished last in Div 4 last year so can appreciate how tough it is to keep spirits up.

Having played ********* previous and seeing how quickly they raised the white flag, and comparing that to the energy of your club it showed a marked difference.

That may not win you games but it can certainly build strength and resolve in a club.

You will cop rubbish from those outside, ignore it and keep supporting your kids. You have got some good ones.

Good luck for the rest of the Year.

Regards,

Andrew McRitchie

Pulteney Football Club Chairman

B grade lost by i think 4 goals, starting to become more competitive, was a god win in the Cs, hard fought but stuck it out

I noticed Shane Collins was in the best players again for the B grade (seems to be every week). Why can't this 19 yo kid get a run in the A's when the A grade lose by 100+ every week ( he played A's last year). Does the coach not like him or is their another reason ( maybe he should get his parents to come down and drink with the right people). Can't understand why you would persist with the same team when it gets flogged every week

Can't understand why you would persist with unsubstantiated information every week, if you were really interested and stayed around the club instead of bailing you would know that he has been up for selection many times and will continue to be in contention every week, but is struggling with injuries at present and has had trouble running out a full game in the B's.
Was selected on weekend but had to pull out at last minute for personal commitments.

I've been reading this thread with interest, as Ingle Farm is my old junior club. I also was involved in 05 in a junior coaching role.

The story of 2009 at Ingle Farm takes me back to 1996 at Hectorville when we got flogged every game. That year, we lost 39 players to clearances and reduced our stocks from 3 teams back to 2, but in essence went up a grade from A3 to P3 and faced some teams coming straight from Div 1 SAFA.

In fact, I think we got beaten by record margins, so much so that we didn't even look at the table during the year.

As much as it seems difficult, we really enjoyed the year. A few mates of mine still consider 96 the best off field season we had. We had no expectation on us and hence went out and tried to enjoy ourselves.

I remember a game against TransAdelaide Tigers and I think they scored 29 goals in the second half. Their coach and captain came into the clubrooms and gave the same type of speech that the Pulteney email/letter detailed.

We finished up 96 with such on field comradery, that we were able to recruit players because the club, despite losing heavily and dropping a grade was such an attractive proposition for others that we played in the 97 grand final - including winning 11 of our last 13 - unfortunately one of them being the GF.

To cut a long story short - this year is going to be difficult, however keep your heads high, play with great spirit and endeavour and good things will come to the club in no time.

Best of luck guys.

I'd back your comment up there KIR, at half time he was clearly your best, at 3 qtr time he was probably just in front, he could hardly raise a gallop in the last and I don't recall him picking up any possessions. He was burning early though, ran hard and used the ball effectively.

Perhaps use him sparingly off the bench? Prob lacking a genuine midfielder who can run all day anyway, or rebounding off the back flank?

after 15 years at the club do you seriously think i don't talk to anyone anymore. If the player is carrying injuries and can't run out a B grade game then he shouldn't be playing at all, why flog him in B grade when the club has nothing to play for at this point in the season. Still managed to play B's on the weekend and get in the best, maybe he didn't want to play A's.

A grade fought gallantly all day today, eventually losing by 8 goals.

Last time they played Rosewater i think it was about a 40 goal loss!!

Come on Old Farmer, gotta have SOMETHING postive & nice to say this time lol!! 8)

Ok Phantom Gossiper, here goes. Well done doggies, great effort yesterday, heard scores were level at 3/4 time but the guy's just couldn't pull it off in the last. I'd say the rossies coach would have had a quiet chat to his players at 3/4 time too. Good to see the improvement in the last couple of weeks. May have something to do with the inclusion of S. Collins lol.

Congrats to Bucky, Greg and Luke on their 100th games. Watched Greg and Nath come through the juniors with my lad, both good kids. And Lucy's a champ too.

Also heard most of the old hill crowd was back on sat., that would inspire any team, can remember a certain successful coach who would take his team to the hill to sing the club song after a good win. love em, don't move them on. Get some of that old farmer spirit in to these young kids and who knows what could happen.

Poor old Shayno not having much luck with injuries this year, was uitilised sparingly on Saturday as he was in a car accident the night before and had used his forehead as a airbag, thought it was Easter time when I saw him with the size of the egg he had. Did advise him not to play, but full credit to him as he fronted up ready to go which is typical of the commitment and fighting spirit shown by all the boys all year.

Being level pegged with them at every quarter, their coach was certainly very animated and having quite a bit to say at every break.

Old crowd, new crowd, we appreciate all positive support, was good to see the supporters fired up and pushing the boys and I think the boys are certainly showing fighting spirit and are starting to believe in their own abilities and in their team mates, has taken a bit of time and losing a lot of quality players from last year was a blow, but can only look to the future and hopefully the success on the field won't be to far away.
