nuggety goodness wrote:seems like the Mozzies have a few ins this year. i've heard that there are a few ex ovies lads out there, here's who, tell me if i'm wrong.

Lance Long, KPP forward or back, the best of the lot, has a lot to offer any side in Div 7, i rate him very very highly!!!
Steve Elma (dad), FF/FP, kicks a lot of goals, however has a temper, can he play next to Novosel?
Kaine Elma (son), wing/HF, can play but also gets very lazy, likes to be the best. would probably rather play in the twos to get more touches
Peter Curtis, Ruck, hitman...
Dave Walker, FP/BP, gettin a bit slow, suited to the magoos

that's all i've heard, we'll see once our preseason starts on Jan 19th...

dont they have an ex goody saints player as well, quite a few ins.

my brother lives in mawson lakes and got a flyer in the post about the club, got the mawson lakes hotel on board, some good sponsors, i like the club logo

The_Warrior wrote:The Mawson Lakes Football Club invites all past, present and new players to pre season training recommencing on Tuesday January 19 at 6:30pm. From there on trainings will continue on Tuesday and Thursday nights under coaches Geoff Riddle, Rob O'Gorman (asst.) and Dean Troughton. All newcomers are welcome, as the Saints (or Mozzies?) look to build on it's 4th placing in both Div 7 'A' grade and 'B' grade in 2009.

The new footy club has had recent success with over 10,000 flyers dropped in around the Mawson Lakes are, with several readers showing interest in joining The Saints. The New Club website will begin in a week or two as mawsonlakesfc.com.au

The new logo & unofficial mascot is displayed on Riddlers and (S)aintbacklines avatar. I too would change my avatar to the new logo, but will keep my current one in honouring my safooty log in and of the greatest films of all time.

Really i just thought it was in honour of Paul 'The Warrior' Nivon

Good to see the Mozzies backline will be strengthened in 2010 with our new/old recruit.

Yeah, thought that might be part of the deal...NO BACKLINES!

Now, to kill off Novosel and make it look like an accident and you're set ;) I hear baseball bats are effective - it works for ice skaters

It does sound like the Mozzies are shaping up strongly. Hopefully for the rest of us a bit more bark than bite?

Looking forward to getting back down to the Webb tomorrow night. Hopefully I will see some more new faces!

Without a poll or even certainty of the teams....

St Pauls - Discipline is their pre-requisite to a flag
Athelstone - Nice mixture of old and the young, will improve on 2009
Sacred Heart - See Athelstone
Central United - After a terrible 2009, making the finals is a must for club survival
Glenunga - See Central United
Flinders University - Can the youngsters step up?
Adelaide University - Without a proper 'D' grade, will always struggle with depth
North Pines - Will improve, slowly
Angle Vale - Will always struggle to recruit without their own home ground
Ovingham - Will be happy to just to fill two sides each week and build towards 2011

Your mail at the moment would almost be spot on, but some big decisions need to be made soon to try turn things around at the Pines. Will just have to wait and see.
