Agreed it takes more than just one bloke to win a game. I would like at least 2 or 3 to step up on a staurday. That would be nice.

was talking to a pooraka A grader during the C grade match and he said they have many long term A grade injuries.this has caused the depth to be really tested and by the looks of some of their players,I think the super rules team may be supplying some numbers to help out.Credit to them they stuck at the task even tho being flogged. just on a lighter note the Pooraka coach must have had enough cos at 3/4 time he come and shook our coaches hand saying well done, not realising there was still a quarter to go

Correct. 18 odd injuries through the 3 grades. Hence all teams struggling at the moment. To our boys credit though, no one gave up and dropped their heads. The next few weeks getting a few back will be nice.

A good game against Portland on Saturday. The game was played in good spirits. Can anyone give an update on the health of the player who passed out after the game had finished in the change rooms. The players and support staff from the Raggies hope that all is ok.

We let another one slip against Lutheran on South Park Beach on Saturday, thought we controlled the game after they kicked the first 3 goals but our decision making and discipline in the last 10 minutes cost us as we squandered a 3 goal lead. I didn't play against Pooraka but by all reports we blew that one too so we should be 5-0 instead we are 3-2 and playing the top 3 sides after our bye this week. The upside is Rd 2 we have 7 out of our 8 games all at home

Another close one and losing it in the last. Looks like it could be fittness or numbers for rotation? Looking like your on the up with 3 and 2 and the 2 losing games being close but will be a test against the jets who are looking impressive. Who looked good for ditters this week and are there players coming back in cause from what i heard there were a few injuries in the a grade on the weekend which will take out a few from the grades below.

Perhaps Double P should be concentrating on his own problems at his own club instead of being so concerned with Athelstone's C grade and its players!!!! ;)

Fitness is always gonna be a concern seeing as we can't get numbers on the track twice a week but that's not what cost us the game on saturday. Matty Johncock was best on by a mile and would expect him to go up again other than him it was mainly the old brigade that played well this week. Your right about the injuries above but there is still a few blokes who just play C's to come back and with alot of home games to come I think we'll be ok and see some improvement.

Athelstone took on Seaton Ramblers at Max Amber Sporstfield on Saturday. After a couple of ordinary quarters in previous weeks they came out of the changerooms ready to play and kicked 4 goals to zero in the first quarter and had another 10 scoring shots in the second quarter. Luckily for Seaton they weren't all goals. The Raggies went into half time about 6.10 to a couple of points.

Seaton came out fighting in the 3rd quarter and kicked their first goal while holding the Raggies to one or two. The fourth quarter saw a repeat of the third with both teams kicking a couple of goals.

A good game played in good spirits marred only by a knee injury to an Athesltone player.

Athelstone at their best will give any team a run for their money - consistency seems to be their problem. Seaton shouldn't be taken lightly either. They work hard and don't stop until the final siren. They might not beat many of the top teams but they will give them a good run for their money.

The C grade game was the first of a triple header with the Raggies B grade winning and Seaton's A Grade getting the choccies in the last game of the day.

Any other match reports from the weekend?

Ill be corrected but i thought it was a Pembroke home game? Typical of the same things that POS didnt achieve last year. Hardly ever put the scores up when they are meant to be, very vocal early on then came crashing back to earth when it wasnt going so well. The same thing will probably happen this year when they all have the ski season and the like where every man and his dog will be off old chap! Same goes for their match day officials.

Is this like Pembroke when it is an away game and your playing the top side? Cant understand it some times when you can have a good game against the early div leaders then fofeit a couple weeks later.
