Not fooling anyone mate, no one gets paid, Steve Taylor played all of his juniors at Smithfield along with 90% of all A graders. all players are required to pay their registration on top of that. We have at least 10 players that are junior life members and love playing on our great oval, they play for the love of the club and the comradeship that comes from within, simple.

Scout, you came out and made a statement, I disagreed with it, so you throw in a few clauses. You said that "everyone pays, if it's on the books or off the books", that is what I was responding to. Of course there is going to be cash incentives for best players, A packet of chips and a can of coke doesn't cut it with blokes.

The cash incentives are to get people back at your club and reward them with a few drinks for their efforts. Some of our players get offered good coin to go and play in the Hills, Barossa or Adelaide Plains, they stay for the love of the club. The way we see it, if you're not going to pay ALL of your players, don't pay any.

We rely on the 200 plus juniors that we have at our club wanting to come up and play in our A grade.

200 wtf..you running a kindergarten there ? :D

Yeah, Sunday night weekly awards is pandemonium, all grades from under 7's upwards.

Hope Valley will have 16-18 junior teams in 2009
They had 189 kids register at their rego day 2 weeks ago!
Thats just the kids that came that day!
Will be around 300-350 kids registered by the start of the season!

great numbers ash..well done..if you got juniors you have a future

we have 8-9 teams inc u/18s this year..prolly 160 + kids..not bad for a club with no district symbolism and playing msjfl against mainly higher graded division teams..looking forward to having u/18's again in SAAFL this year

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

At risk of getting off topic, last I heard, Jeff has defected to a round ball team and is happy as he no longer needs to run water (not that I think he ever did that anyway)....

Hey lightning. What about the $20000 player budget last year. Heard that from the coach.
