Try it without the vodka next time, it's marginally cheaper :D

Also like to say it was good to see a lot of Tea Tree Gully C Graders hang around for a drink after the game today, good luck for the rest of the year.

Pooraka coach was told a private function was starting soon and were told they had to be quick. It was decided to give it a miss this time. Hopefully people at hope valley didn't think the boys were being rude..

I say this without being bashed, but who wrote the law about socialising with the enemy post game. Nice to catch up and have a frothy, that I get, but you get belted by 40 goals and you are scum cos you don't spend a buck in the bar of your opposition. It's a mandatory with our club but you just went in to your opposition teams club and gave them more money to pay the guy you are having a beer with who kicked 10 on you.

Great to build relationships between clubs but seriously? WTF

All the Hope Valley Players went up for a drink after the game, like we did when we played at Pooraka. The function was starting at 7.00pm so not sure where they got that info from, we did our awards and then the boy's when down to the change rooms for ice bath's and a chat, like I said before each club to there own.

Demon Juke if it helps I find out who from hope valley told the A grade coach the wrong information and private message you

The boys at Pooraka would not deliberately skip a chance to drink no matter where it was

Let's leave it at that

I think it's poor form if you don't go in and be an ambassador for your club, I love hearing how other clubs operate and perusing the club photo's and history.

Interesting point LM. I heard a rumour that a coach gave his team homework to do on an away game and that those players had to report back to him how many times he was on the home clubs honour board. I don't know what punishments were served with the ones that didn't know or got it wrong? ;)

Wrong division I know, but the Plympton lads ought to be commended for their turnout after playing us at Blair Athol last week.

It seemed that 90% of the players from both grades were there, including their sizeable supporter contingent. I love seeing it, and it certainly adds to the mateship between clubs and footy in general.

I don't know whether it's a generational thing, but it sure doesn't happen as much as it used to. It's certainly become rarer in cricketing circles.

Since this forum goes dead silent for weeks at a time with no news, updates or arguments.. I thought it would be interesting to hear people's thoughts on the rest of the season? Premiership contenders? Players that are going to make a difference come finals time? Relegation even?

Top 5 could almost be set, massive game for us after the bye against north haven out there.

positioning of the top 5 could go any way. Round 18 shapes to be very very crucial.

Premiers : Westminster

Runners Up: Salisbury

Relegated: Kenilworth

Medal winner: Devin Payne (Hope Valley) and Scott Blesing (WOSFC)

Also just looking through our numbers for the year...

We have used 49 players in the A grade and 60 in the B grade!

Happens when you need to rotate to keep under 15 APPS Points

I wish that was the reason for using so many players

49 in the a grade is massive - it means you have effectively played 3 new players in the a grade every week for the first 10 weeks. I know last year when we had a lot of blokes unavailable we used 47 for the whole year.

For me the top 5 is set but finishing order is anyone's guess. We have tough games against NH and EP both away over the last 4 rounds which will likely determine our top 3 aspirations. As shown in the past though we dont mind coming from 5th...

Agree with the Blesing call. Absolutely tore us to shreds just before the long weekend. If he's played anywhere near that level in other games he'll go very close.

EP & WOS still favourites for the flag I reckon.

I wouldn't write off Eastern Park just yet.

I wouldn't write off any of the teams in the top 5. 4 of them are as good as any team I have ever seen in the comp and the other team is pretty sharp too and will cause issues if they finish top 3.
