Too many games being played on the day and will take the gloss off it
to me it should be for the the grand finalist from previous year if they want to take it up
adds to the reward for the teams going up a grade.

I agree mate, its more of a novelty this year playing on the Saturday !!!

I reckon the previous years grand finalists should get first crack at it, if they decline then others can apply. Still should limit it to one game per division though, IMO.

On the money Felch!
But even if the grand Finalist dont want then nobody plays from that division.

Got no problems with that either.

Its a bit like Twenty/20 cricket - too much of it ruins it completely !!!

Its up to the teams to request if they want to play on ANZAC day, it wasnt a case of D4 being overlooked.

Portland vs Haven on ANZAC weekend wasnt programmed by accident - we requested it months ago, so we had the option of playing on the Friday. When the draw came out, every man and his dog were playing on ANZAC day, so we think we can draw a reasonable on the Saturday, if we promote the game around the local area.

Hopefully some of the lads who are playing on the Friday will come down and watch, it should be a great game of footy !

Thanks for the clarification. That day a triple header by any chance ?

Not sure what the story is there, people are saying they have lost players, but nothing has been confirmed. Pooraka are probably better than most people thought too.

I had a look at their team sheets from last week - their A grade did have a few omissions, but their ressies seemed to have most of the guys from last year. Maybe a few of their B graders prefer to be big fish, if you know what i mean.

I still stand by that comment too mate, Mitcham's 2007 B grade were a very good team.

PAOC, by a fair margain!!
Portland and Mitcham will be close, Mitcham might find their straps this week, even away from home.
Pooraka to beat Pulteney.
CBCOC and Fitzroy might close then people expect, could go either way, i will say CBC, just because they are at home.
And hopefully the Lutherans get up over Haven in the twilight game, which will be my first twlight game in my career!!

Pooraka were thought to have lost several key A graders but they didn't go in the end. Don't think that they have any major ins. Don't think I will be not be making the trek out there this week and be stuck in town defending by BOG crown from last week
But if by sheer luck that I do I will post my thoughts accordingly.

my tips for this week

Unley v Prince Alfred OC will smash them off Kingswood oval
Portland v Mitcham coz Felch said so
Pooraka v Pulteney OS was a close one last year out there so maybe time to reverse the result
CBCOC v Fitzroy Were well in front at 1/4 time last week then went poo hopefully a different story this week
North Haven v Adelaide Lutheran to bounce back from last week

You got me thinking Bradman, so i went and checked the facts on Mitcham.

There were 12 guys missing from their 2007 prelim final team when they played Pooraka last week - thats nearly 60% turnover.
Could be a misleading stat though - we dont know, maybe the in's are better players than the out's .

Unley v
Prince Alfred OC

Portland v Mitcham
Pooraka v Pulteney OS
CBCOC v Fitzroy
North Haven v Adelaide Lutheran

Picking all home teams, except Unley cause they are terrible and portland cause felch did.

I dont think there has been enough said about Mitchem!! That loss to Pooraka is huge!!! Round 1, home ground, coming off a great season and Pooraka had 14 more scoring shots than them!!! 2008 is anyone’s year in my book!!
