Your probably better off staying where you are as the BL money train only stops at the station once every two to three years, so next season you'll be out of pocket and back off to the APFL.

Not there for the cash mate, i can walk from home to the oval

That the main reason you left your old club??? I think not.

Central United will still be around, a lot of clubs have peaks and troughs, look at Rosewater in 07, struggled big time early in the year, although they didn't make the finals in 08, they played some pretty impressive footy at times. Brahma Lodge had a forgettable season last year aswell and appear to be on the way up. I'll find out how they are travelling by the weekend and let you know.

They are not the first club to have a bad year mate.

We are playing Central United in a trial match so I hope they still have a team. It has not been determined yet if we will play 2 full games or a 6 quater game. Central United said we will decide that the week leading up to the game depending on there numbers.

Hows your oval looking Bigshow, have the council been looking after you or is there the occasional piece of tumble-weed rolling across it.

Ventured out to The Lodge to watch training last night and catch up with Browny - they had about 30 training and the oval looked in fair nick considering the heat - I also noticed there were 3 brand new light towers up - must have been paid for from the oil they found ;)
I must say for those that know Browny he looks like he has dropped 10kgs - only another 20kgs to go

The oval is looking pretty good. The council have relayed lawn in both goal squares which previously were just dirt. It is looking lush and green. There is bore water at the ground now so the oval gets watered very regularly. Still very hard though.

Good to hear, they've been giving ours a drenching and it's looking as good as I've ever seen it in the last 29 years.

Yeah we have 3 new light towers and the 4th is still to be put up, I'm not sure what other clubs lights are like but ours have been very poor and it will be a different experience being able to use the whole ground during training!!

Another 20kgs! Would be nice though ;)

We also had a new player out at training from the Bendigo league in VIC at training last night, looks the goods but yet to put pen to paper.

I drive past there most days and i would agree it is looking very nice. From what I remember it was looking good last year when I played a trial match there. Does the ground hold up well over the season?

Very good drainage, it can get churned up a bit between CHF & FF at the pub end on the Saturday and be firm under foot by Tuesday. We try and encourage the juniors to train up the creek end towards the end of the season when we're experiencing heavy rain.

Hardly ever gets muddy.
