What Possie is Coung Phan playing, played Juniors with him at North Pines then at Port Adelaide. Was a good Ruckman then Center Half Forward, but being Asian we thought he would eventually stop growing!
Hes a big unit with a big mullet! Hes a utility. it will depend on our team balance and who we playin against where he lines up.

It was a physical game, especially early. Seaton were definately cleaner with their skills, and had the better of us at most stoppages. Losing our CHF for the whole game just before halftime (because of his own stupidity) didnt help our cause either. Wanders was easily the best player on the ground, Coardy was also good off half back and that geriatric Marshall can still get a bit of it too ! His treatment of Portland's runner needs to be seriously looked at though

I thought Laslett was very good for us, as was Birdy. Perkins battled his bum off all day too.
Not a disastrous start for us, but still showed we need to improve in a few areas. I think we have the basics of a reasonable side though. As for Seaton, they look strong, good mix of older blokes and a few kids. Its early days i know, but would think they will be around the mark.
Crowd was good too, plenty of good natured sledging and banter going on. And a fair few cans being consumed as well ! Look forward to the return bout in round 10 at the Thunderdome !
The serial pest runner needs to have a good hard look at himself!! Agree with the comments stated a really hard physical contest marred by some very over umpired decisions. Going to have that problem when two young guys who have been umpiring SANFL Under 18's come and umpire Amateur league games. Lot more contested footy that these umpires need adapt to, perhaps the powers at be need to let them know this. Great to see lots of Portland people hang around for a beer and a chat after the game.
Have To agree with Newman about the serial pest runner. I remember a game last year where all the runner wanted to do was to come out and abuse opposition players rather than deliver his message and get off the ground. Its just funny how there are two issues now and the same runner is involved, you do the maths and work out who the problem is. Im sure there are more people who can back this up too!!!!!!!

But in all honesty thought the umps in the A grade and B grade were good. Obviously a couple of decisions i didnt agree with but u can understand that.

Stephen White's going to worry a lot of teams - he is massive.
