THIS WEEK
St Peters OC v Salisbury North - St Peters OC is always a tough proposition at Caterer Oval, especially in the wet. How much of an advantage this will be remains to be seen, as Salisbury North has a wealth of talent spread across the park. I predict that tomorrow will be a day for smaller bodies, especially up forward, and the Hawks have plenty of midfield/small forward types who are adept at getting the ground ball. Like I said, St Peters OC is a big ask at home, but Salisbury North should get up. Salisbury North by 18 points.
Gaza v PHOS Camden - Gaza has won 3 of its last 6 games, and tomorrow's game may add another scalp to that list. PHOS Camden is playing for pride, but will that be enough to get over the line? If the Phantoms find an answer for Blacksell, Allocca and Boxer, this match would be much more of a contest. Gaza by 13 points.
Tea Tree Gully v Broadview - In last week's match against Salisbury North, Tea Tree Gully had the Hawks' measure for 3 quarters. This in itself shows me that when swtiched on, it can be a real threat. A loss for Broadview would just about be the final nail in its coffin for season 2013, although they have a couple of challengers for space in the bomb shelter. After witnessing the Gullies in the wet at Pertaringa Oval last week, I'd back them if the conditions were similar. On a dry day, it's anyone's game. Tea Tree Gully by 4 points.
Adelaide University v Rostrevor OC - A win tomorrow for the Blacks would just about secure it a spot in the 5. However, I'm not convinced that it has the cattle to make much impact in September. Rostrevor OC, on the other hand, has pretty much booked itself a double chance, and would be looking to flex some muscle before the end of the minor round. There's plenty of incentives for both sides, as the next few weeks could settle finals aspirations for Adelaide University, as well as prove to the football community that the ROCS are the real deal. I think that Rostrevor OC has this match covered. Rostrevor OC by 22 points.
Henley v Goodwood Saints - Match of the round. Both sides deserve to be where they are at this stage, but I get the feeling the Sharks are circling. 5 wins in a row says to me that Henley are up and about, and making up for a sluggish start to the year. Goodwood Saints, however, has been the yardstick since Round 1, and I don't see them dropping a game at this stage. Both sides are dripping with talent, but Goodwood Saints has a touch more class that with see it get the job done. Goodwood Saints by 26 points.
