Watched my first div 7 game for the year with Mawson v Flinders U, with the former running out by about 12 goals. I thought the conditions were probably better than most around Adelaide, with a few goal breeze to the northern end, a good surface, and a bit of drissle throughout the game. The two blind mice certainly didn't earn their paycheck. The younger did not seem interested in the game, refusing to get into good position and displayed a tendancy to whistle for ball ups just as a team was about to clear the ball. The older makes you wonder if we should have a retirement age for the men in Orange.

Does Flinders have an issues on the road? With Mawson sitting top, it would be considered a respectable performance by the bottom side to lose by 12 goals (Although I'm sure coke Brokensha would disagree). The score could certainly have been much closer, but they could not capitalise when the ball moved forward with the ball rebounding with regularity. It's hard to believe they lost against the 6th or 7th side last week by 150 points.

It is quite apparent coach Riddler has the talent to win the flag and a good game plan, but on today's performance alone, they did not quite look like a premiership side. They are hints of indiscipline in their ranks, which will prove costly in the major round when they are pushed by quality sides and overseen by superior umpires. The investment in a bag or two of cement for a number of their forwards and odd utility will assist when the air comes out of the ball and the hits get harder in those last few games of the season. Then again, good teams certainly have their bad days and perhaps that is what I witnessed today?
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Game again was won by the Mawson Lakes bench with the maestro in charge. Flinders Uni were poor but the maestro led the charge to the win. Lets face it who needs Brett James when you have the Super Coach, in all honesty.

In regards to TTG vs Glenunga.

B Grade - Was a shitty game in really shitty weather, but even still TTG played good wet weather footy and could cause some of the top teams some trouble if they play them in wet & rainy conditions. Also watch out for Luke Haynes great skills for a forward of his size

The games might have been abandoned both teams have a draw recorded against them on the Premiership tables in both grades
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

What a crap day that was! Rain barely stopped. At times felt as though we were using the old "slip and slide". Got to get used to those conditions as I reckon there may be a few more like that this season!

2/5 for me and just about everyone else  Understand Angle Vale beat the Raggies too in a week of upsets.

The Mawson Lakes Saints made their longest journey down south on Saturday to take on the Crabs at Flinders University. These sides met in last years Elimination Final, but were now sitting at opposite sides of the Ladder for the Round 8 encounter. Winter decided to show it's ugly head and put on conditions to complete contrast of last weeks immaculate weather. Despite the climate, the Flinders Uni Oval was in good health, with a slight breeze to the Northen End. The Saints received first use of the wind after skipper Lachlan Kennett won the toss, and despite a slow start, put on a 5 goal opening term. Ruckman Myles Cooper was instrumental in bringing his onball brigade of Nathan Bruce-Gordon, Rob O'Gorman and Glen Meulendyks into the match. The Crabs got their first goal of the match early in the 2nd term when Dale Goodfellow goaled from long range. Dion Gregory was leading by example for the Crabs but had little support. With 3 'A' grade Debutants on show for the Saints, it was pleasing to see popular robust forward Matt Veitch goal on debut from long range after a strong grab. The 2 other 'Newbees' Pete Curtis and Rob Maiolo held their own in defence. Medal Favourite Rob O'Gorman retired from the match at half time after complaining about sore feet, while skipper Kennett left the field at 3/4 time to get his hair done. With these players missing, late call up Steve Elmendorp took to the field, looking like the 'Elephant Man' with a bandage around his head that would be best described as Ugly. Elmendorp had been on the receiving end of friendly fire from team mate Lance Long during a Tuesday Night drill, and with 28 stiches in his head, bravely took the field. With the weather making the 2nd half a dour struggle, the Saints run out 70 point winners, with Ivan Novosel kicking 7 goals. The Saints now take on fellow Top 5 side and much improved SHOC at Mawson Lakes Hotel Oval this Saturday, while the Crabs will continue to look for that elusive win for 2010.

Maybe it was just an oversight when the home team was entering in IScore?

great game between the units and SHOC.. on the weekend skill were pretty good considering the weather probably had the best of both teams.. couldnt belive some of the strong marks taken in packs and just around the ground in general. the skills were pretty good from both teams. great to see units finally put more then a few quarters together to make a game out of it and come out in the winners circle..

Mawson Lakes Coach Geoff Riddle steps aside tonight as current Kersbrook Coach and AFL Premiership Player Brett James takes the reigns. The Saints will be looking for a big crowd tonight, similar to last years turnout, when guest coach Roger James took training.

One of the Saints better looking supporters will be in this week's talkingamateurs budget. Kim is a Saints fan and was kind enough to allocate some time from her latest Modelling Shoot, to promote the new Mawson Lakes Guernsey. She makes the jumper look a lot better than the 42 blokes who play in it each week, and after the Saints players saw her latest work, they thought it only fitting that her work was viewed by the broader amateur league community. It's certainly worth it!

Glenunga v Angle Vale - should bounce back
Athelstone v TTG - if raggies switch the team with D7Res they'd win
Lakers v SHOC - supercoach + james influence + home game = a close game?
Units v Modbury - no idea but sticking with home ground advantage
Blacks v Smashed Crabs - good chance there won't be one hard ball get for the whole day between the uni poofs

This is correct DJ not 1 lap ran last night and according to him does not believe in them. Has other methods he uses for warm ups etc. Very good football brain and taught the boys and myself some invaluable stuff last night.
