Reasonable hit out for both sides. Plenty of kids playing for Broadview, looked ok. Very fast paced game with Rocs midfielders and forwards looking quick. Not sure on how many outs for Rocs but talking to the Broadview people, still 6 A graders to come back in. Should be alright from what i saw if thats the case. Might need some help in the B's though, look in trouble again.

i have played against virginia. they have been the easy beats in the league for about 3 or 4 years now, they only win about 2-3 games a year. the only chance they ahve is to recruit because they only have a couple good locals players. thye have greg phillip sas their caoch now so things may be looking up for them

what i know is the facts, his coaching in barossa leauge
over 70% win ratio
last 2 years premiership coach
his coaching record previously at kilburn. made finals 4 years in a row in A1, that would = say around 60% +..........sounds like someone who can think on his feet to me
As the people at Kilburn have said their only way to get back to A1 is to get Occker back
Might i suggest we continue this discussion at the end of the year when the results will then decide.
If I were to generalise I would say that the fact he is such an excellent recruiter makes his job as a coach easier. I believe a true test of a coach is to be able to get for e.g the third best listed squad in a comp to finish above themselves. His relentless and thorough recruiting disguises his deficiencies as a coach is all. As for getting back into A1, Occker is the best person to provide back room support but somebody else will need to finish off his work, I believe.

Hmmm.... Gibbo releasing top secret information, hey ? I saw him out spying on us at the weekend's trial. He will have to be dealt with on Saturday !

Seriously, Gibbo is a good bloke. He played a bit of A grade footy for us, but mainly B's. Wish him all the best.

Virginia is still on the recruiting drive, there could be some more Port boys lining up with them this weekend. I know they have been talking with some reserve players and some U19 players as well.

Finn, not too sure about your maths, mate, the score was more like GX 15 - 11 to Uni 1 - 15 with about 6 or 7 of those behinds rushed. Yes Uni hit the post a few times but did not score their first goal until the last quarter.

Roachy and Kernahan looked extremely concerned after the game.

i was just quoting was on the site earlier with regards the score - i, as said, left at halftime. that's roachy's state of being isn't it?
ilosing by 70 odd points regardless of the amount of scoring shots is always concerning - it may have been something as simple as releasing that more goalkicking practice needs to be done thereby leaving less time for team structural training. i still believe that uni will make the 5 and gi ve it a fair shake.
