Hey im not saying i know what went on within the club, im just saying that now that its all come out, it just seems everyone else except ovies seem to be making the effort to help the club. I know blokes playing there and they dont seem very interested in investing time and money into helping. No need to get all upset and defensive, merely making an observation from an outside view..

No i dont think they did. End of the day i want to see ovies survive and recover, and i think nuggety goodness is a great bloke and the kind they need, i just curious as to what the players are doing to help out if you know what i mean?

I guess end of the day if some of these blokes dont want to help, they arent worth having around the club and the club is better without them..

... i will pledge $$ to the cause to show im genuine..

Mr M, if you want the club to survive, you can only swing one way. If you don't, you won't need to worry because the Admin or anyone else at the club cannot afford to be "laid back" any more or extinction is the next stop.
By the way, it's not a given that "ring ins" don't pay, the charges are the same for everyone, regulars or otherwise. Go buy a car, tell them you only want to drive it twice a year at Xmas & Easter and see if you can get cheap registration.

That's great to hear and thanks very much. The bank details are posted above, let me know when it's done and you get the same thanks as all other pledges. Great to have faith in a cause.

No club can or will survive with that kind of person involved. Sooner or later, those people run out of places to go. No club needs that type of person.

Very simple.

I have contributed and will also go on the committee if Aceman asks me. No-one should be cleared before fixing up their debts.

Dont suppose you could register yourself as a charity so I can get a tax deduction off Swany?? :D

Good luck

You'd have that in your Bentley's ashtray as loose change wouldn't you Jimmy.

That's the easy option LQ

I took it out of my son's trust account.........see, he's a rugby union player so has never had the pleasure of playing Ovingham.

Now, he hates them too..... :D

If my maths is correct, $450.00 has been deposited, still $300.00 to come from pledges. 04PC pledged $100 & $200.00 from a mate of mine at Express Colour Printing. That should go in today.

Has there been a change of admin?

No point me handing over any "extremely hard earned" if the same guys in charge are going to make the same mistakes... Its human nature to get away with what you can until "the establishment" pull things into line...

I have never played ovies or anything, and am to broke to pledge, but good luck to ya's!
its not good to see any club go under!
but on your comment of ring ins should pay I disagree
If a mate of mine was to fill in a game cause we were short, then he shouldnt have to pay fees!!
if he starts to train and continues to play then yes he should have to pay!

Yes, they now have people in place who will be accountable for the clubs finances. The problem originated fron lack of understanding of requirements to run a club, that has now been fixed.

I disagree to an extent, there should be a fee for ring-ins like $10 a game if you play under a certain amount of games, or for instance the fees are $150 divide that by 18 games and its $8.33 so $10 a game for a ring in is not too bad, and should be easily attainable from the player.

Even ring ins should know that it costs money to put a game of football on...

If they are only filling in & helping the club or mate out in an emergency & at short notice, shouldn't have to pay, $10.00 less is better than a forfeit fine. ;)

I agree, with our rugby league club, a player can fill in a "temp reg" which enables them to play 2 games before they must fully register with the club.

We charge players $10 for temp reg, in the scheme of things it is pety cash to have a game and the club is still receiving some money for them taking the field to cover the costs.
