St Pauls - Discipline is their pre-requisite to a flag
Athelstone - Nice mixture of old and the young, will improve on 2009
Sacred Heart - See Athelstone
central united - a terrible 2009, making the finals is a must for club survival
Glenunga - See Central United

Flinders - University - Can the youngsters step up?
Adelaide University - Without a proper 'D' grade, will always struggle with depth
North Pines - Will improve, slowly
Angle Vale - Will always struggle to recruit without their own home ground
Ovingham - Will be happy to just to fill two sides each week and build towards 2011

my mail defaintly has nth pines with only the one side and ovies maybe not even having a side at all but defaintly wont have 2 sides especially not whilst mawson lakes are stealing them all lol just jokes.

i would have glenunga in the 5 for sure and maybe even central united and yes the mozzies would have to be fav's with SHOC and athelstone the 2 unknowns for mine

Glenunga much more likely to do so than Central United!

wouldnt say that as I know The Units are picking up at least 1 player from Brahma Lodge's A Grade Grand Final Side with a possible 2 others plus what they are recruiting from other areas

There are at least 5 players who played Div 4 A grade last year that are playing with the Rams this year.

Definately not us mate. I would think more along the lines of SMOSH or Port Districts - SMOSH have very good numbers.

The decision made down at Nth Pines last night was one that was made in the best interest of the club. We have enough already for one team and are trying our best to get 2. Hopefully with a few things the club has planned and the appointment of a new coach the club will get 2 teams on the park. It was a tough decision for myself, Mal and the club to make but we believe it is the correct one.
I encourage any potential coaches out there who are still interested in coaching to have a look and apply for the job. It is a great club with great people regardless of what some people believe.

Whilst Central United and Glenunga have made some worthy pick ups my money would be on Mawson Lakes being the bench mark by far

So what exactly has happened? Mal has stepped down of his accord, or was he encouraged to? I'm confused.

Thought the answer to that one Pag was pretty obvious...... Mal and I have resigned as the A grade coaches of Nth Pines in an attempt to find a new coach and (hopefully) attract new players. The idea of us to resign came about after speaking with an outsider from the club and we believe it to be the correct decision for the club to move forward.

We almost had Fowler out playing for us last year until he accepted the Gaza B grade position. The fact that Fowler did not stay at the club long was not all of his own doing. Maybe if he got the full support from the committee that was in charge back then we would not be in the position we are today.

are north pines looking at playing only one side in the c sections? i'd assume they'd want to play as high as possible then.

I think Athelstone who finished 3rd last year and the only team St Paul's couldn't beat may have something to say about that.

The Div 2 side has recruited quite heavily (including one of our young guns  ) yet again and I expect this to filter down to div 7 and once again make them a very strong unit.

Ovingham - Will be happy to just to fill two sides each week and build towards 2011

Looks as if Ovingham will not be alone this year getting two sides on the park.
Other clubs are struggling getting numbers.
Pines are not looking good at this stage and are looking for new coach with the hope he can bring some new blood to the club & Angle Vale could find them self much the same.
Maybe these 3 clubs should move into a C grade now before the season starts.
Better to have a good 30 players and winning games each week than getting kick off the park in your lower side.

When you think of other clubs wanting to get into Div 7.
I here Golden Grove are looking at put 2 more senior side on the park this year.
Talk around the Port is SMOSH are back.
Modbury also want in then you have many other clubs that could easily fill teams in DIV 7.
So time for these 3 clubs to maybe go to 1 team in 2010 then to rebuild for the following years ahead and keep their club alive.
I think Pines & Angle Vale will be alright as they have juniors coming on in the next few years. They can work their way back to Div 7.
Not so sure how Ovingham will go but winning games would be a major goal you would think and getting a few flags in lower Div would help them long term.
