Not Damian Hynes is it?

is it Matty Prowse?

No names ring a bell. Wasn't paying attention they announced the name, just heard that he was a former central ressies player.

If what i am being told is correct. The calibre of players PNU are targeting and recruiting they will be a serious chance to make the jump two years in a row. Mind you they all have to gel for it to work. We saw this with sides like Walkerville and others this year. Hannah who approached PNU from TTG has renigged on his contract afetr sighting pressure from family not to leave TTG. Seeing that there were issues at TTG with not being liked yet takes the brunt of the family card (from what im led to believe). Would be interesting first night out on the track for him. Watch this space. The exec group at PNU have been extremely busy and good luck to them. If they get the next 2 guys that i have been told about then be like North Haven in Div 5 and order the merchandise now ;)

All this hysteria about PNU will come back to bite them. Big name recruits on big money will see PNU as they always do choke when they come up to Div 1 or 2

I wouldn't say when PNU went from Div 4 to Div 1 in about 5 years was choking. They did fall in a bit of hole once they got to Div 1 but they aren't the first club this has happened too (Eastern Park, Woody South) Underestimate PNU at your own peril this season, they will be pushing for finals in 2014

PNU spent 3 years in Div 2 after winning 2 premierships and made it to the heights of Div 1 in 2010 and didnt recruit. Yes they got relegated but i wouldnt say they choked. Note that none of the hysteria is coming from within PNU senior playing group, coaches or board. What other people post is their business and if a few of the young fellas from Payneham who now post and are excited and passionate about their club i say good on them. I dont think anyone has said anything more than we aim to do well and play finals. We came from the elimination final as a galvanised unit and one thing we didnt do is choke.

Choking for me would be more along the lines of spending huge $ and going out in straight sets as the screaming hot favourite. I guess though Cash you are clearly the most qualified to discuss the art of the choke as you have specialised in it in recent years. :)

Congratulations you got me to bite, see you tonight where we can argue this point at great length.

Come on now I dont play for Seaton.

Alot of new PNU posters on here lately, thought they were maybe getting a little carried away.

HAHAHAH nothing like a bit of banter to start up a long Friday before Gaelic

A few of the cheer squad members are on here and they bleed the Falcon blood. They have come through the junior ranks and are no doubt excited by the way the club performed in August and September and have huge expectations.

Being really old i have seen a lot of div 2 football over the last 3 decades and am under no illusion that the jump from Div 3 to 2 is as big as any jump in amateur league. Will take a monumental effort for PNU to play finals next year and it will require them to recruit well, gel as a unit, continue to have that big group that came through the juniors improve, avoid injuries and have some luck along the way.

Im certain the word choke will be muttered regularly this evening. I must admit the entire Port districts team yelling at me to drag one of my players a couple of weeks ago (Broadview lad) was one of the funnier things i have experienced. Probably not as funny as you found the red card of fantasy given out for an incident that didnt happen to the poor lad from Walkerville. Tails would be one of the cleanest ball players i have seen and that red card was the worst piece of officiating i have seen since my very average footy career began in 1981.

You know how rumours gather momentum? By spreading word about something you know nothing about!

PNU will be very strong this year, cashed up big time after bluffing the council into giving them another wad of cash. Good luck to them, clearly have some smart people running the place.

Are they planning to build a 3rd story or just going to spend it all on players

I believe the main initiatives are the new Womens team, continuing of the second biggest junior program in the State and the naming of one of the pockets after me ;)

Of course the emphasis on the senior teams will remain as we move to Div 2 and bring in a fourth senior team meaning we are now part of the Div 8 C/D grade leauge.

How many Jnr sides did you have this year Wristy? think TTG, Modbury, GG had around the 20+ mark

Yeah i was told we moved into 2nd. I couldnt tell you exact numbers. But from 6s to 18s i think with doubles in many year levels. Id suggest we certainly would be in the 20+ mark. I know we struggled to get on the oval on a Thursday night with amount of little Falcon midgets running around.
