It might just be as I just heard another former Gawler Sth/Elizabeth player may also be considering the move ;)

Did the new Fitzroy coach not learn anything at Bute? id be interested to know if they have tried to speak with anyone from any other clubs or just Elizabeth.

Of course he speaks to people from different clubs. Most of those players have approached him about playing there. And who are u to judge anyway. :butthead: :butthead:

A true lack of understanding of smaller country clubs ol mate! If you dont have locals you struggle. The Points system dictates that. The new coach at Fitzroy will do well !

I was talking about the fact of looking to players from Elizabeth to get him through. I get Bute doesn't have the locals but neither does CMS and they won a few flags on the back of recruits.

I rest my case! CMS have had some of the best juniors on the peninsula ! 3 towns much bigger than Bute! Yes they had good recruits but had the majority locals! Easy to dig the boots in from the outside without knowing the facts. I expect Fitzroy will improve if the people behind the scenes are united!

So they had majority locals? Then how did they go this year with majority locals? Yes you must have local talent but also need to recruit to fill a need not just for the sake of recruiting.

If CMS locals only played Bute Locals only CMS would win by over 20 goals. Bute wouldn't have a B grade side as they wouldn't have enough to fill one. That the difference!
