Good win to the Sharks on the weekend against a valiant Adelaide Uni, winning by 10 points after being down by a goal at 3/4 time.
Henley had a player pull out on Saturday morning, another player pull out due to injury 5 minutes before the game (meaning that a B grader who played a full game was called up), then lost another player with a shoulder injury in the second, and a further 2 to hamstring strains during the game.

Injuries are a part of footy, and this happens to clubs on a weekly basis, but the Sharks have been hit like no other club I've seen before. Great effort by their A's to be in the top 5, and for the B's to still be in contention.

Credit to Adelaide Uni too, who allowed Henley to call the player up from the B's, I don't think they had to allow that, but good on them.
I was surprised to see Uni play a couple men down in their 2's, they have the best depth in the SAAFL.

I'm not usually one for naming names, but <sorry - no names yet> is a deadset scumbag, and Gaza should want nothing to do with him.

He'd been sniping all day long, and the Salisbury North boys took it in their stride. But when the tables were turned, and he was on the receiving end of a strong tackle, he got up and spat his blood on a Salisbury North player. That is a weak dog act, and he shouldn't have been able to leave the field conscious for such an act. To make matters worse, his bleeding was visible and the umpires didn't enforce the blood rule.

All the while, the family made a complete and utter spectacle of themselves.

The family are infamous in the northern suburbs as a family of troublemakers, and I can't see why any club would want anything to do with them and their baggage. I looked at the player records on the SAAFL website, and this prick has been at 3 clubs since 2012. I rest my case.

I know Gaza have some good people around the place, but this scumbag will only drag your club down.

Don't know about the sniping. I actually didn't see any of that from either side all game.
There was some remonstrating after a strong tackle, to which he copped a few punches (hence the blood).
I didn't see the incident you are referring to, nor did a lot of other players.
I can't say it didn't happen, because I don't know. But if true, yes it is a disgusting thing.
Thought th while game was played with no trouble from both sides all day apart from the ALLEDGED incident.

Have to agree all the way with BOP on this one. Thought, apart from the 'incident' the match was played in excellent spirits. SN calling out another player for sniping is a bit rich. Especially surprising considering the 'sniping' from the game earlier in the year at SN. I would be very careful asking Gaza to clean up their backyard with the tribunal record of some of the players from SN. But if he did spit blood, which I did not see and wasn't near at the time, I agree in wholeheartedly condemning it. Absolutely has no place in football.

I agree with the fact that the incident aside, the match was indeed played in good spirits. The bloke in question, however, was quick to play the man and not the ball. I know Salisbury North are a physical team, but they're not about going the knuckle and not the ball, contrary to popular belief.

In regards to the tribunal record, we've only had one A Grade player rubbed out this year, and that was in Round 1. You guys have had no A Graders suspended this year. But that is beside the point, I was not attempting to rubbish Gaza, but merely point out that this bloke is bad news.

I had a pretty clear view of the incident at hand, and the Gaza player was bleeding after being tackled (and it was a hard tackle). Once the blood was spit, then the scuffle started.

Incorrect. The scuffle started straight after the tackle. When our player was set upon by 3 SN players within a couple of seconds, copping a few punches in the process. I know this because I was there to break the thing up.
This is when the blood was drawn from the mouth. So the incident you are referring to did not trigger the scuffle, it was the result of it.
And again, I didn't once see our guy target anyone earlier in the game. So not sure where you were looking.

Agree to disagree, I suppose.

Oh well, I'm over it now anyways. If posting my opinions online has taught me anything, it's that I should perhaps do it ONCE I've calmed down.

He got everything he deserved.
Hiding on the outside all day and sniping when he had a chance. Trying to throw around all 50kg he has.
If you didn't see it your blind. Even chooka Fowler had to talk to him during the game.

he was bleeding from the tackle and was mouthing off so the hawks players were saying get off the field and check if ya teeth are still there, which is a sledge he then spat blood on a player and that's why he copped it 50 kg or not u spit blood on a player u better expect retaliation from all 18 blokes on the field, and if the club allows that player to continue playing after knowing what happened the club should be ashamed.

depends if he actually spat it to the face of a player or to the ground and some got near the person need to be real clear the player could have taken it the wrong way

For God sake!

I was right there on the field when it happened. I was the first gaza player in there to break up the scuffle. Within about a second of the tackle it was 3 on 1. He copped a couple of hits. The blood then came. Unless it was a massive coat hanger of a tackle, its hard to see how blood would come from his mouth just from a tackle.

My SN opponent made the comment to me after the scuffle that he saw our guy apparently spit after all the commotion.

Yes spitting is no good for the game, and if he did it he should be punished severely.
Let's just make sure we get the rest of the story right first at the very least hey.

Was a report made from this incident or has Salisbury North submitted an investigation?

Agreed, the Hawks were in serious danger of dropping the game to PHOS Camden. But some great finishing in the last quarter got them over the line.

Correct Beef Rolls are awesome there.

We just got over the line 2 weeks ago down there. Hard going on that ground at the best of times let alone in these wet conditions.

Can anyone from Uni confirm that they may be looking to invest in some quality lights to play Friday night games from next year to avoid the clash with AFL games at Adelaide Oval?
It is a great idea if true, and they should try to get this done.
