Cheating is when you gain something outside of the rules of the game.

IMO doesn't matter who umpires from what I have seen The Unley B grade are still going to win...

If in your opinion you felt they were biased, yes thats fine, however BACK UP YOUR REASONS..

Correct - I could umpire the Unley B grade and they'd still win - I reckon you all need to get over it.

Everyone makes it sound like Unley B grade are unbeatable, im sure Elizabeth beat them a couple of weeks ago ;)

The site rules for a start:

material which is defamatory/libellous. This includes material which is libellous against SA Footy moderators and the Site Admin, other SA Footy members, or any third party. As a general rule, saying that someone is a poor footy player or criticising some aspect of their game is not considered libellous, but it'd be nice if you could back up your opinion with fact.
Very little facts on here to back it up, in fact the only facts came from Jetters who provided scores in that game which none of you had a chance in hell of winning anyway, help or no help from an ump.

The above also includes personal attacks on other people or members, be it direct or incinuated.

- troll posts (posts intended to be offensive or ignorant, setting off a large and pointless argument)

For a start, it's clearly old news so I really don't know why everyone is still carrying on about it - I can't wait till finals, what are you all going to whinge about then?

Secondly, we're here to discuss footy, not start a witch Hunt on a club umpire. Umps and other officials are hard enough to find without them being subjected to such scrutiny. Hell knows if it was Lloydy or anyone elses club umpires coming under such scrutiny, you'd be the first to jump up and down (luckily for you, Lloydy is a great ump :D )

You lot have been told by 2 different moderators that enough is enough - not because we're trying to curb your freedom of speech but because you all can't be trusted to not make it personal, which could have legal ramifications for this site.

My suggestion (and I know you've been down this road before Turk) but have you thought of a combined club complaint if the other clubs still feel it's such an issue... has this complaint been re-submitted since we've had a footy director?

So given that, if the subject of any person and their performance or lack thereof comes into the spotlight again, play by "do unto others" rule. Also any person using the the word cheat to describe anyone (unless it's been proven by the tribunal or a court of law) will be given a holiday as it's a personal attack.

Is division 4 really that much of a boring division that you can't find anything else to talk about?

Firstly, it's not OLD news. It's current news. Great post turk.
Secondly, we are discussing footy. Umpires are a massive part of footy and will be discussed along with players, footballs, oval conditions, types of boots and good looking canteen girls.
Thirdly, I'm moving to North Korea....

Westminster OS wins hands down!

Cheers Cossi... 'Westminster OS' and 'wins' look strange when used so close together!!
We have twice the candy working this Saturday so shaping to be a good day. Despite the inevitable whooping AL will probably hand us...

Was going to make my comeback this weekend, looks like i might have another week off ;)

A couple of points based on the last few posts

FC thanks for the compliment about Lloyd he goes ok... but I feel sure that if he had been the subject of such a long and vigerous discussion the Greenacres FC would have investigated and probably changed our umpire.

Choccies is right, it is a current and ongoing discussion point, umpiring is a massive part of the game and as such, a few suspect decisions given at the right time, place etc can change players thinking and outcomes of games, equally important is a non decision.

Gatt you make point about the umpire being in the opposition forward line, I dont totally agree. If you get a dominant team
you will find that their umpire will spend more time up towards the centre of the ground if he is biased he effectively becomes another player in a wall that becomes much harder to penetrate because he also has a whistle...very powerful, again the decision that is not given becomes disheartening.

Again I will state that the Jets are one of the best B grade teams I have seen in recent years and dont need any help so why doesnt someone act and allow them to bask in their glory without this thunder cloud constantly threatning

i cant see why jetters, with the large numbers of umpires he knows, doesnt just send the old guy to the C grade and put another in for the B grade..why continue to let this cloud hang over your club when people should focus on how well mercedes jets are going?

the majority cant all be wrong about him..

Since i couldn't give a rats arse about the Unley B-grade umpire and am mainly interested in talking a-grade footy, im steering the conversation elsewhere.

With 3 rounds to go, are What are the season defining games remaining???

Ill do my best to hype some up:

ROUND 16:
Heccies v Greenacres: Hounds lose this, there finals chances are all but over. If greenacres lose they are in big danger of relegation. They play GG and Scotch in the last two rounds whilst Elizabeth have less fancied opponents

Unley v Pultney: With Plymptom playing Para Hills, they may draw level with Pultney for the last spot in the 5, assuming the Jets get up

Scotch v Salisbury West: Home final at stake here. If Scotch do a number on West, im backing them to go to the GF

RD 17:
Match of the round will be Pultney v Plympton. Winner likley to take the final spot in the finals (assuming Plympton beat para hills and unley beat Pultney a week earlier)

Sals West v Unley: Can West strike a blow before finals?? If they lose to scotch they may lose 2nd spot. Winning this may get that first final on home turf.

RD18:
Elizabeth v Pultney If Elizabeth win they should save relegation. Pultney may miss finals on % if they lose. If Pultney win, the door is open for greenacres to stay up. If Pultney lose to Plympton a week earlier, they must win this to draw level on points. Pultney should get the job done but don't discount Elizabeth fighting for divisional survival at home

My Final ladder after doing a few tips is:
Unley
Scotch
Sals W
GG
Pult
Plympton
Hec
Eliz
Green
PH

The Pultney Plympton battle for 5th coudl go either way. So much rides on the game against each other. Sorry Heccies, even though you are even points with plympton at the moment, can't see you getting it done

Plympton in the 5 :D ... who wold have thought?

i know there has been some talk of bad umpiring in the reserves comp this year, but Para hills ump is one of the best goin around... its good to see...
just a quick comment on PH in regard to both grades. They got some talent in both grades but just a shame few blokes are to busy watching the body not the ball... fair few cheap shots going round today... but to our credit we made the footy our first option and did what we had to do...

good day at the kennel, and a huge game against pulteney next week...

Feels good to be back in the winners circle!
Burnt the ball a bit. That will hurt against a top 5 side.
Finally looking like getting some injured guys back next week. As many as 5. Fingers crossed

Massive credit to elizabeth. They have improved massivley since last match against us
It has been said before but the hospitality they show to visiting teams is great. Very proud and professionally run club. I look forward to playing them. Always a good clean contest in both grades.

Big day for the club next week

Its the day where we raise money for Breast Cancer Research both our teams will be wearing specially designed gurnseys and its also our sponsors day so we are hoping for a good turn out.

Playing the Grovers allways delivers tough hard footy so next week should be no exception.

Hope the Golden Grove crowd support the cause and drop a few dollors in the tins around the place and maybe even buy a raffle ticket or two

This must have all taken a week off when we played at Elizabeth.

Thought Pulteney were pretty good yesterday.
Perrie bog by a mile. A massive hangar and a huge torp in the last were highlights.

Was good to head back into their club-rooms after the game
We were Invited in and free jugs of beer for our boys.
On the field have never really had trouble with them.
Few scuffles in yesterday's game. Sheppard got a very tight tag all day and frustration boiled over. Minor push and shove in the last quarter but was players from both sides pulled team mates out calmly and nothing more from there.

They obviously didn't want you in there Jetters. We have standards up north ;)
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Elizabeth set the league-wide standard for post-match hospitality. Was there til almost 7pm after our game last year, it's a a credit to their footy club.

To be fair, aside from the disgusting off the ball king hit and the blue their drunk spectators tried to start with our players and supporters as we left the changerooms at the end of the game we had no issues with them. (actually they are normally pretty good, but not this time round)

Great weekend for the club, top spot secured in all 3 grades. But, as has been mentioned at our club constanly minor premierships mean dick all. For me and a large group of players it represents a sniff of reward for a number of years in juniors and then 5 of years senior footy, being reasonably unsuccessful, but we have all stuck together. For others at the club hopefully we can bring home some silverware for their countless years of hardwork.

Heard Mark Johnstone on the radio footy show announce that Greenies will be looking to appoint a player recruitment manager for next year ...as a paid position 8)

Dont think there would be many of them around the SAAFL unless they call them a coach :o
