Wonder why so low a number? Why play trial games if you don't want to play your A grade side - isn't part of the reason around these games about gelling as a unit, working on structures and game plans?

I agree was the same with us yesterday units said they had 12 blokes out from there a's and that a few blokes doubled up.

You lads played any trials mate? Been quiet this pre-season... ;)

We had a bit of a hit out against Westminster and Blackfriars but we only had about 23 available so not reading much into that. Besides that we have an internal this week, had a couple of trials fall through so we just deal with what we have and be ready to go next Saturday..

25.23 to 0.0

Got to feel for Hackham though, their B grade wouldn't have beaten our C grade side, we gave them a few players as well to make up numbers, but credit to them they stuck it out. I was happy to give our fringe players a good run and try a few new things as well.

Score really was irrelevant I thought.

What was A grade score?

I heard about coach Manuel yesterday, hope he has a speedy recovery.

A Grade - IF 12.6 d Hackham 8.6

Thought they had some handy sorts, and went in pretty hard, tried to rough us up a bit. We were very scrappy though, over used the ball, and lacking key personnel hurt, but still a good opportunity to iron out some of those kinks, and leaves my A grade coaching record at 100% (retire now lol).

Yep our thoughts are with Paul and his family at this time, really scary stuff and everyone at Ingle Farm is wishing him a speedy recovery.. I'm told he should be back on deck for Round 1 though which is positive.

That must've been a terrible scare for everyone concerned.

All the best to Paul and we hope he's up and about again soon.

Very unfortunate what happened to Paul. He is recovering well and should be home today or tomorrow. Also thank you and well done to Matt Bedgegood and Chris Pascoe who stepped up and took charge of the A Grade yesterday in Pauls absence and did a great job.
Thank you to Hackham for making the trek to Rosewater, great hitout for both teams and good luck for the year
And finally a huge thank you to all involved at Rosewater for allowing us to play our trials at their ground and for looking after us so well.
Now bring on the real stuff............

Wonder if Ironbanks recruits played.

Sad news about the injuries though - especially in a trial game.

Your boys had an easy win in the B Grade yesterday - what was it? About 40 goals to 0.0?

Hope the young fella from WC that got injured is alright, appeared quite serious.

We had a fairly strong A grade side only about 4 or 5 out and WC were very competitive.

We had a bunch out in the B grade so it was essentially our C grade side but WC had a couple of handy players in their 2s.

So with most teams finishing trials up over the weekend, what are peoples thoughts on leading goal kickers, who will win the medal and who will take the flag.

No idea about who might win medals or goal kicking lol.. but still think West Croydon is the side to beat, and Brahma/Woody South closest to them.
