Benny Stokes the young aboriginal lad from South Adelaide? Prob abt 23?

I think he came from marion he is about 24 25 good hands and good at ground level.
Kicking needs some work but hey when you habve 14 scoring shots a game it will come.
Dont write seaton off just yet alot of potential there!

If this stokes is the same i think it is i played juniors out in Southern League with him and the boy can play! i think he won the assoc medal playing half a season.. the other half playing 17's with S.A and was in the top 3 B&F count there too..

Can I hope that the Uni vs Broadview scores are correct and not like the Uni vs Eastern park as was reported two weeks ago.

They are correct Rotter - check the goalkickers and it cant be the B's.

Broadview v Uni - Must have been an interesting match - can anyone give a report - did Uni run them off their feet?
Kilburn right in it for a half ( I said 3/4)
Pembroke without 2 x Pinkneys and at Flinders Park!!
Eastern Park - now starting to look like the real deal. That will shut a few Lodge people up with their doom preaching
PHOS Camden still the one to beat IMO

Uni flogged them in both grades, so even if it was like the Eastern park stuff up last week - they still lost!

Second hand report but it was simply said that Uni were as good yesterday as they were bad last week taking nothing away from Eastrern Park who quite clearly have been underestimated in every one's preseason predictions.

I'm with you Jimmy, PHOS appear to be the only ones who are deserving of their preseason tag

Wouldn't be getting too carried away with EP being real contenders. We should have won yesterday if it had not been for some of the most blantantly one sided umpiring I have ever seen. We got eleven points up in the last after being seven goals down and the umps gifted them two goals to put them back up.

Absolutely shocking.

Payneham are a good side and will be very strong this year when they have a full compliment to select from. PHOS definately the team to beat. Kilburn are gone as are Pembroke.

Anyone got any good goss on Phos. Got them at their ground this week.

Quite a one sided account of the final quarter there. IMO was a fantastic game of footy, both sides were hard at the footy and fought it out well. To say that the umpires giften Payneham 2 goals is a bit rich, I'm sure we could have similar thoughts about the two dubious centre square infringements in the last 10 mins of the game, one of which directly resulting in a goal and also question the final quarter than ran for a touch over 35 minutes.

I agree that it was a fantastic game of footy but I have to agree with Booze the umpiring was a disgrace. PNU were gifted two goals late in the final term and a least two in the second term as well. There is one umpire that should have a good look at himself because it is getting to be a habit with him, and it only makes frustrated players and spoils it for all supporters.

I agree that umpiring was incredibly average and inconsistant, with blatant marks not being paid and many free kicks that were questionable but to say that payneham were gifted 4 goals is a bit much mate. both teams were given frees and gave away free kicks so lets not bring out the violin and blame the draw completely on umpires. both teams dominated in sections. Eastern Park had planty of opportunities as did payneham. had the demons of kicked straight then it would of been a completely different story again. so lets agree that the umpiring was questionable at best and that the game result was what it was for the reason that no team was better than the other on the day hence the draw.

chatting with the guys, basically that uni were able to run broadview off their feet and that the kicking up forward (both at goal and into the area) was a lot better. also helped that the guys are beginning to know how people play, how far they kick on each leg etc.

Totally outplayed us. Harder at the ball and their skills were very impressive. If they could keep that standard up they will be very hard to beat. I think our boys might be smarting after a certain bake after the game, hopefully can get back up for Flinders Park.

Fair call. Both teams could have pinched the win but a draw was probably fitting in the end. EP continued in the AFL's 2008's theme of over celebrating a draw though.
