I wasn't intending to take anything away from payneham with my comments on the umpiring. They are a good side and caused us some serious problems which we will try and address next time. Just IMHO i think the umps had more of an influence on the outcome than they should have.

The same could be said for a couple of boundary umpires (calling centre square infringements). Started with one completely wrong call from your lad then they both seemed to be trying to outdo eachother.....absolute rubbish on both accounts (ours and yours)

In relation to the celebrating a draw.....

Seven goals down at three quarter time against the wind and against a side we rate highly then facing a loss we kick a goal after the siren to draw.....over celebrated? I don't agree.

And the fact that most players and supporters thought they had won by a point.

Absolutely shocking.

Payneham are a good side and will be very strong this year when they have a full compliment to select from. PHOS definately the team to beat. Kilburn are gone as are Pembroke.

Anyone got any good goss on Phos. Got them at their ground this week.

Quite a one sided account of the final quarter there. IMO was a fantastic game of footy, both sides were hard at the footy and fought it out well. To say that the umpires giften Payneham 2 goals is a bit rich, I'm sure we could have similar thoughts about the two dubious centre square infringements in the last 10 mins of the game, one of which directly resulting in a goal and also question the final quarter than ran for a touch over 35 minutes.

I agree that it was a fantastic game of footy but I have to agree with Booze the umpiring was a disgrace. PNU were gifted two goals late in the final term and a least two in the second term as well. There is one umpire that should have a good look at himself because it is getting to be a habit with him, and it only makes frustrated players and spoils it for all supporters.

I agree that umpiring was incredibly average and inconsistant, with blatant marks not being paid and many free kicks that were questionable but to say that payneham were gifted 4 goals is a bit much mate. both teams were given frees and gave away free kicks so lets not bring out the violin and blame the draw completely on umpires. both teams dominated in sections. Eastern Park had planty of opportunities as did payneham. had the demons of kicked straight then it would of been a completely different story again. so lets agree that the umpiring was questionable at best and that the game result was what it was for the reason that no team was better than the other on the day hence the draw.

I have never blamed umpires in my life until now and one in particular is a dead set cheat and has been for years. But as per normal the SAAFL will do nothing about it. Like I said the game was a cracker and you are right if EPFC kicked straight there would have been no probs but the last terms umpiring was a farce. These blokes don't mind putting their hand out for coin after a match good thing they are not paid performance based. There is no violin out EPFC should have won the game and not got themselves in the situation they were in but both sides deserve a fair crack when a game is in the balance and both sides were scratching their heads at times wondering what was going on. One other thing wasn't it good to watch two sides have a good hard tough crack at each other with no behind the play shit the way the game should be played and that bloody Tyson Burrows is still a bloody good footballer to watch, and a good bloke to go with it.

Is the club president aware that Occa is being offered another contract, it would suprise me considering the differences the two have??

You sound like a disgrunteled Kilburn player.... what coach not giving you a game

Thats almost correct, i played there last year. I dont rate occa at all. He made some pre and post match statements that i found to be amazing. I wouldnt play football for him if he payed. :D :D :D

Tinginthewater it all comes out. Because you was unable to cut the mustard you shouldn't throw it back at the coach. Mate maybe a bit of soul searching and mirror looking might help you to become a stronger person not looking to blame someone else for your ineptitude.

Ok, well now we all have it out of our system and agree that the umpires were not great and they had no idea at any stage and confused everyone in the last quarters, not to mention any other attributes including boundary umpires competing for the most centre infringements and all the other reasons that have floated up. Conclusion is both teams played and drew now on to next week. Good luck for the season and look forward to another tough game next time.
Also booze if i have read correctly i presume you are the player who recieved the backbreaker over kochies knee after taking a grab that was not paid. if this is true then i can understand why your sitting at the computer as much as you do as i wouldnt be moving too much either if not disregard the comment.

I dont look at mirrors cos im ugly.
I was asked by Occa to come and play for kilburn, i didnt go to Occa. I was playing in the A grade, so im unsure what you mean by ineptitude.
I enjoyed playing for Kilburn, but dont rate Occa as a coach at all.
