Even ring ins should know that it costs money to put a game of football on...

I agree, with our rugby league club, a player can fill in a "temp reg" which enables them to play 2 games before they must fully register with the club.

We charge players $10 for temp reg, in the scheme of things it is pety cash to have a game and the club is still receiving some money for them taking the field to cover the costs.

Our cricket club has an option where its $30 for a part-time subs package, and then you pay as you go with $10 a game, and if payments start to lag then they've got 2 weeks grace before they are in-elligable to play, which is the reason for the $30 innitial outlay.

Your talking some serious extremes now, if you need to choose between a forfiet and one bloke paying $10, then perhaps you need to reassess your resources and playing numbers, and look at fielding one less team??

Just trying to put it into context, someone helping out as a 1 off shouldn't have to pay & shouldn't you be busy installing your bar?

If my maths is correct, $450.00 has been deposited, still $300.00 to come from pledges. 04PC pledged $100 & $200.00 from a mate of mine at Express Colour Printing. That should go in today.

Oops sorry men, forgot the $100.00 pledge from Luke & the Footybudget team so make that still $400.00.

It's slowed a bit, what about someone else firing it up again, we'll take $50's or $20's,maybe even $10's, we are not the least bit greedy so come on, how about a few more $$$'s for the Ovies club.

Mr M, if you want the club to survive, you can only swing one way. If you don't, you won't need to worry because the Admin or anyone else at the club cannot afford to be "laid back" any more or extinction is the next stop.
By the way, it's not a given that "ring ins" don't pay, the charges are the same for everyone, regulars or otherwise. Go buy a car, tell them you only want to drive it twice a year at Xmas & Easter and see if you can get cheap registration.

I have never played ovies or anything, and am to broke to pledge, but good luck to ya's!
its not good to see any club go under!
but on your comment of ring ins should pay I disagree
If a mate of mine was to fill in a game cause we were short, then he shouldnt have to pay fees!!
if he starts to train and continues to play then yes he should have to pay!

from what I know the ring-ins play every week and aome never train so I dont know hey

I've transferred $50 to the account Ace, good luck in assisting Ovies in getting the club up and running again.

How good is this?

Thanks Hilly and the gang at Salisbury West for your generosity, it is really appreciated. Hopefully the hat is about the same size as Hoss Cartwright used to wear in Bonanza and you get it filled to the brim on Saturday. No seriously, it is terrific how you and your club along with many others have taken up this opportunity to help another club, it certainly hilights how the football community can pull together for a common cause when it's needed.
Everyone is to be commended to the max, it is fantastic to be a small part of it.

PG, you can play the slightly overweight kid who doesn't quite get picked each week but he loves the boys (literally) and then he gets picked in the grand final cos 13 blokes go down with the swine flu and wins the game with by staying on the bench the whole time...

that got a bit out of hand in the end...

good call! well it is partially me, the slightly overweight kid fits, i love the boys, in a non-sexual way of course, and the rest fits, yeah i guess it is me!

i think PG might have trouble stooping to that level though...

Not too sure how you would go as the main star in the movie PG, but you know the old story, "money can buy you anything".
Another $100 could see you with your name up in lights on the big screen..........................at the defunct Hollywood Drive-in
