Yeah, they tend to sook and try and put the heavy on you when things don't go their way :?

yeah pretty much. the siren went and we were accused of being dirty effin cheaters as the quarter went for 25 minutes. i informed them we have time on in a grade.
that apparently did not go down well as then i had every supporter who was standing around the coaches box going off....
also do not appreciate their supporters punching our interchange stewards table and yelling in her face when she had her 2 grandkids (under 4 ) right there with her.

From the sounds of this they did not supply a time keeper and if they didn't they have no right to complain.

thats right. i told them that too...

If you don't have a timekeeper you really take a punt and if there were what 7 or 8 goals scored for the quarter it will go a minimum of 30 minutes.

sounds like football + "supporters" [ idiots ] who cannot handle the grog. time for the clubs to crack down on their "supporters' who behave in this way. in time all clubs will lose the people who give up their time freely [in most cases ] just because of issues like this. just try getting the 'idiots' to do something on the Satdy to help the club. [ by the way i do enjoy a Coopers ,of any colour, so i'm not a wowser ], just don't like abusive drunks at the footy

It's a bit hard for clubs to crack down on their supporters when the committee members are the ring leaders. :?

Now please dont take this post the wrong way but i go and watch an SAAFL game every sat day for some of these reasons
i love to have a few beers and talk crap about the game with my mates and give it to the opposition players and if they give it
back all the better .. I love the passion of SAAFL games and i would not want to see that change
if i wanted to watch footy without passion i would stay home and watch it on TV I understand some people go to far
but they are the minority I just hope the FEW dont stuff it up for the rest of us

Did the club consider putting in a complaint?

Lads, i agree the banter between the crowd at the game adds to the good games but as you say it only takes 1 or more d**ks to spoil the atmosphere. up to the rest of us to tell them that they out of line

There was obviously going to be time on we all know that, but to be honest it felt like fricken ages. My opponent was told there was a minute and a half left by his trainer. and amazingly in that minute and a half there were four goals kicked. now i am not complaining, i feel the games was a great game and was played in good spirit with no stupidity going on on the field.
Of course people are going to question reasons why the game turned out a draw and point fingers and all of the rest of it but all in all it is what it is, a draw. We can always speak about how dissapointing supporters are i am sure every club has its supporters like this. Supporters are passionate and when anyone is passionate about something and they have alcohol in there system they are stubborn and will definately argue their point.
Also to clear things up the club as in the players coaches and officials are all aware that by not having a time keeper of their own they cannot do a thing about it and it was mentioned that they are the only ones to blame.
Lets drop the topic now the next game is two days away looks like its going to be a wet one, any news on any other clubs/ games apart from the PNU EP draw and how many people are blaming everyone else for everything.
Also EP players and supporters and whoever else. Yes you get a raw deal when it comes to be being stereo typed due to previous seasons and what not but you are also being recognised as a club that is moving forward in a positive way. so cheer up.

Very big tips there Jimmy Pembrokes a big call and Easterns over PHOS is a huge call but may very well be the tip that puts you a cut above the rest. the rest are pretty common i would say unless the raggies uni call is one others may dispute. Then again Payneham may struggle in the wet, a few years back they were belted in the rain by Killaburn

good news for the blacks - and players of other clubs etc. the main grandstand at beautiful uni oval has had its funding and plans approved - will be updated and remodelled within its heritage criteria but, as part, changerooms will be completely renovated. unfortunately work begins at end of 2009.
