Someone care to elaborate? That's one of the more bizarre things I've heard?

3 games for striking 1 game for umpire abuse. Wasn't he a part of the North Pines debacle last year against Adel Uni. The Owls would be shattered. Hope they get him back on track because he can play, but that sort of garbage has no place in our game.

Also interested to see 5 reports from Div 7 in only round 2. Not like we are playing for sheep stations down here and I seriously hope it's not something that is going to worsen.

Our club has enforced a one game suspension for any player who gets red carded during a game even if they get off so hopefully it stamps it out a our club.

Hoping the rain stays away for both the dawn service and also all games played tomorrow all games will be a beauty.

Houghton v Angle Vale:
Can Houghton continue on there winning ways or will Angle Vale bounce back from the 40 point loss the week before even without there spearhead forward.
Mitchell Pk v Salisbury West:
Can Mitchell Pk play 4 good qtrs of footy and notch up a win or will Salisbury West be too good, they had flinders Uni so havnt got a real good idea on how good they will be yet.
St Pauls v Adelaide Uni:
Can St Pauls carry the momentum from there first win against Angle Vale or will Adelaide Uni be too strong after a hardned match against houghton from the week before and show they are a top 3 team.

Lucky, otherwise Houghton would probably bring guns.

Was nice to get the bogey off our back. Salisbury West are a good team and scores were level at 9.9 apiece with 15 minutes left to play. Game played in traditional Anzac spirit so well done to both teams.
Congratulations to Tom Roberts from MP and Justin Davies from Salisbury West who were awarded the Anzac medals by the respective clubs.

It doesn't get any easier for us with another big clash next week against the red hot St Paul's. :)

@morell @yank man thoughts on the north pines team? Do they belong in the A Grade? Or just too strong for the big drop off in the A's to B's that we both have?

To be honest crabman I saw the 1st half and they are OK. They have only played you guys and us and we aren't in a position to challenge them with brand new B grades. Houghton, Adelaide Uni and St Paul's in the next 3 rounds will determine their real position. They love to run free with the footy and are obviously very skilful but let's see what happens when they are under the pump.

FWIW they wouldn't have beaten Salisbury West yesterday in the A's :)

They absolutely belong in the A Grade. It's an absurd situation. We had guys who can barely tell the difference between a football and a pigeon playing on guys who made the AFL.

I dont know if they will be the best team in D7R, but that's irrelevant, facts are they are their clubs first team and are much closer to D7 A grade standard than many other clubs that have had to cop it on the chin recently.

And that is what irks me the most. Last year we did the right thing, played all ******* year getting absolutely flogged week after week after week. But no, we will respect the comp and the league and get smashed. This year, North Pines, who would be much more competitive in D7 than we were in D6, get to enjoy a solid year beating up on sides full of cripples, spuds and fat old men. Including, the aforementioned Mitchell Park, whose B grade is full of guys who copped it last year in D6. Thanks for ******* nothing.

Having said all that, the North Pines guys are great, I always enjoy playing against them and having a laugh. I personally liked Sticky's call when he said of one of our blokes that his legs were thicker than all of North Pines legs combined.

I noticed Ellingham on the list of goal kickers for MP.. Morell did he get lost on his way to full back or was his opponent just real loose and letting him run off and sneak forward for a snag roll.. Surely he isnt playing as a hit up forward?!? ;)

haha, nah, I am playing without an attached ACL in my knee mate, so sitting in a forward pocket and waiting for hands over the top is about all I am good for these days.

I suspect (albeit with my tin foil hat on) that has been the intention all along LGIL.

The league is creating an environment which means they have the power to remove clubs that for whatever reason are considered a "problem".
