I watch U/16 Red football each week and the best sides in that comp would go close to knocking of Angle Vale on what I saw of them a few weeks back.
If you don't believe me go watch a game next Sunday.

Yeah, I've seen U16's and you are deluded.

Hmm i dont think beeroclock is as deluded as you think.. a 16's side from a strong club like TTG would create some headaches, well drilled, disciplined, fit and generally have a good contingent of players involved at league clubs.

The big issue would be the physicallity of the game.

Don't know if a good 16's would beat the top sides but i think would account for bottom half at least.

I must say, it is an interesting statement, I've umpired a few U16R matches and the skill level and pace is exceptional, TTG had some solid lads that were very quick aswell, I haven't witnessed much D7 action though.

I've seen several U16 in past couple of years and its insulting to the bottom sides of this division to say they would be beaten by a team of kids.

Football still boils down to winning the contested ball and I'll back the senior team to smash a team of kids in that aspect every day of the week.

If you're a bottom side in div 7 thats an insult unto itself, deserve to be rated lower than kids..

The kids comment is a bit conceptual isn't it? Who judges what constitutes a kid? When is .a kid no longer a kid but a man? When is an A grade man no longer a man but an old fart :P

With all due respect to those who were at Ingle Farm before my time, but I don't think anyone in our club is any position to be hanging shit on any level of competition. Unfortunately in previous years, the results have shown that we are where we should be.
Yes we have had a good start, but talk about premierships, promotions, etc. is premature & rubbish at this time of year. All of this talk is coming from outside of the senior group & is contradictory to our thoughts which are well & truly on this week's game against a much improved Flinders Uni.

Now that I've finished that rant,
Can we really take much out of Saturday's game when we all know Q didn't play?
What did the people there on Saturday think of my fashion statement?

You are correct, I totally 100% agree Ingle Farm are where they should be, you wont find me saying anywhere that they should've or deserved to stay up.

You're half right though, I don't see a problem with commenting on the standard of competition whether good or bad, but was probably harsh to hang shit on sides that side towards the bottom of these competitions given they are C grade sides. An indication in the gap of div 6 and 7 is visable in the Farmers trial games - 2 games against mid table div 6 sides and lost both, yet are cantering through 7 at this point in time.

1. I've never said Ingle Farm are dead certs for a flag or promotion
2. I've just indicated that given the recruiting Ingle Farm have done, the start to the season and the strength of some clubs that anything less than a GF appearance in my opinion would be a failure for the club.
3. This isn't AFL and you dont need to do media training and come out with old adages about no thoughts towards the end of the season and focus is week to week blah blah blah, you can't possibly tell me that being 6-0 and the B grade 5-1 that talk or thought of what could be hasnt come up! Every club in every grade would have their minds and goals set on the end of the season..[/quote]

You would have won by more if I was playing.

I thought your fashion statement was great as it covered at least 50% of that head

PG you are spot on. You would hope that guys are not at training telling each other a premiership is in the bag, but to say with the current talent you have available that you shouldn't win on a forum is fine. Just expect others to disagree if they want. Thats why it is a forum.

Well I don't go to the footy every Saturday to f*** spiders! ;)

Of course winning a premiership is the goal, as it is at every club. Just plenty of boxes to be ticked before we can even think of that.
