Halliday didn't play, the other "gun" players looked to lack a little match fitness. It was an even contest most of the game, Greenies skipped away to a 28 point lead then Elizabeth kicked 4 unanswered goals to get within 3 points with 3 minutes to spare when Steve Taylor came out of a scrimmage very groggy and bleeding from the face or head.
Greenies gained some momentum, a poor boundary umpiring call resulted in a goal for Greenies and the frustration got the better of the Eagles, they played undisciplined football for the last few minutes and it cost them the 2 points.
1 of the umpires did them no favours in the last half of the last quarter, he seemed to have lost his way when the pressure was mounting.

I was quite disapointed the boys dodnt keep their mind on the job at that point, we had control of the game and got sucked in to fighting, one ball up there was a brawl on our half back flank, the umpire balled it up in centre square and we only had 2 blokes in the middle switched on.
And that umpire?...... Made the single worst decision ive seen, Our guy was being literally climbed over and hugged, felled to ground, this joker pays it against us for unknown reasons 35 out from our goal at the most critical time of match. Very very frustrating.

Id put it down to an oppurtunity lost for our guys, i got in car and left when after they kicked ahead all we wanted to do was skirmish. Frustration will do that to ya, but we had to be better than that.

Well I think Duncs is close and LM sounds like a one eyed crows supporter, eagles had us on the ropes, the boundary umpires decision was correct (I could not of been pysically closer) and the eagles discipline cost them. Talking to a few players and a member of the coaching staff after the game(happy birthday for Friday by the way) and a couple of players conduct in the end was the common theme, don't want to name players (or their numbers) on here but the same 2 were mentioned (by 3 players and a coaching staff member), you can take the player out of Elizabeth but you can't take elizabeth out of the player!

Bit rich coming from Greenacres, not the most disciplined team going around  From my experience Elizabeth play the game a lot more by the book than Greenies do..

I don't even barrack for Elizabeth mate, I take it you must've been amongst that foul-mouthed group that my 5 year old had to listen to the filth coming out of considering I didn't see you on the field and that was where the boundary umpiring decision was made.
Funny how the boundary ump was making some gestures after the indisgression which had guilt written all over it. Elizabeth did the wrong thing, in that instance and then the couple of minutes that followed, you guys just kept plugging away and deserved the two points, I was making an unbiased opinion of what I seen for the afternoon.

To test's defence, he was right, Elizabeth lost their way. I don't mind a bit of heckling etc. the screaming out of the f-bomb arked me up though. The player that threw the ball was always going to cop a bollocking from you lot.

I think there are still a few stand out teams and the rest of us get lucky from time to time. We are not the side we used to be and will take a while for us all to get back to that standard. But will take the win

I think we did enough. We knew you guys would keep coming but we did what we had to. Thought it was a bit surprising you started with a loose one back at the start of the last quarter since you were only two goals down with the breeze. Had a chat to Troy and a couple of lads in the club after the game, didn't seem too happy about a bloke not rocking up, and fair enough too.

Not sure Skobs was your best, thought Troy and Ben Moss were the most damaging.

What did you think?

Yeah, the lad that didn't play left the backs undersized. I reckon we get used to Skobba playing well each week tho, was definitely in the best. BMoss is having a good year, very versatile for an older player. We see the outcome as an improvement on our last outing against you guys but still spewing we didn't win, reckon your ground may suit us better than ours. Hopefully we get another chance to play you before the year is out !

I'd hazard a guess and say Klever's report from our game should be thrown out as well. Free kick, yes. Send off and report, hardly.

  Mate the bloke he headbutted is one of my best mates, he is looking to miss at least 6 weeks now with a fractured cheekbone and had to have stitches!
This is going to impact on his rugby league, work and aussie rules!
