Really?

Ok..answer this question then....

Under which circumstances would any team be given an opportunity to go up a division if they didnt make a grand final?

Are you all picking up what im putting down now?

Who in the Div 4 GF is choosing not to go up?

So presumably your proposition is that Kilburn doesn't want to go up (which I think would shock everyone), Salisbury doesn't want to go up (ditto) or Mitcham wants to go down (which at the least would be surprising)?

Or is someone jumping ship from the League altogether?

Also, would Seaton get offered a chance to stay up in any of the above scenarios before the Div 4 3rd place getter getting a shot? I would think they'd take it as they've got a fair bit of pride about them.

In fairness to seaton as a football club I actually think the right decision would be torso down. Retain players and be very competitive in 4s, at worst consolidate.
I would almost put my house on kilburn wanting to go up. And from what I heat are already looking to secure more past players from the back to back years.
This leaves Salisbury, knowing full well where their list is at, would be most likely?

If it's what I've heard it's about a div 1 club looking to move elsewhere with the new salary cap being enforced in amateurs.

But the time before that when they were in Div 3 with cash they won a flag!

Wonder if their attitude towards the salary cap will be the same as it was to APPS when i first came in ...

I had this conversation with some coaching staff during the week. Going up without winning flags is pointless. I don't know why you'd bother going up if you don't at least play in the big dance.

BTW FC, sorry I did misunderstand what you were saying because I thought you replied to someone from Kenilworth. Thanks for clarifying.

EDIT - FC, my mistake.......

If we are to make a GF (and it's a big IF), we will go up as we are supposed to, it has nothing to do with us.

Thank you Bandar. At least someone is on the ball this morning.

Now as far as I know, there's only one team in the Grand Final so far. ;)

2 of the leadership group retiring is my news and I've heard 6 heading off to the Barossa already and the GF hasn't even been played yet.

Think about it, what Kilburn will be able to offer next year under the salary cap will be a pittance compared to what the defiant Barossa league will throw at them.

I think its disappointing if it's true

Was there talk of banning players from re-entering the SAAFL if they left to go play in a non-affiliated league for money?

Just clear them to a Barossa club and then clear them back to Kilburn straight away ;) . If a player comes from the Gawler league can't you pay them what you like and worth zero points due to them not coming under the new rules?

The lawyers are on it at the moment to see if these laws can be enforced or not

Any advice that's given will be so qualified that it would be tough to rely on.

Need someone affected with the balls (and significant financial resources) to run a test case if the Leagues' go ahead with a test case.

There's talk of blackballing players who leave the Amateur League from returning for 2-3 years. If it's to go to a League that doesn't play salary cap I hope we do that rule.
