I think that its disgraceful when a team sitting top can thrash a team sitting 4th/5th by 20 odd goals and keep them goalless.
Hopefully the SAAFL wakes up to this crap and realise that Uni are doing what Cedars used to do.
They should go up by more than one grade next year.

We found a broken bottle on the oval this year and last yr one of our supporters 4yo walked over holding a used syringe

It is sad that such items find their way onto a recreational/sporting ground.
I'm not in anyway blaming the clubs who have such items found on their oval, nor having a crack at them, but yes, we all need to be vigilant.

Uni are an awesome running outfit. Very fit and very well drilled, would give a few teams higher up a real crack.
Punk i have a kick and a catch with Hope Valley, although i haven't been doing much of either of late!

does anybody know if the flinders team is much different to last year as last year they were playing in division 8 (the core sides of c1) and were pretty much getting touched up most weeks.

last season finn they had a lot of players leave the club due to finishing study and going elsewhere. They went from a potential Div 7 GF berth in 05 (lost the prelim to West Croydon) to nearly folding in 06 and obviously got ther ar*es into gear and did some recruiting at the uni for this season

cheers for that heater
should they make the jump to c1 to fill henley's spot who are in div7 thus removing the bye? it sounds like they'd be competitive. then a team eg ovingham could move to c5 and remove the bye from c6 or have plympton fully folded now?
i reckon it's just been sorted.

Does anyone know whether Plympton are re-grouping for next year, to try & get a C grade side going?
Hint: having a C grade side will keep fringe B-graders at the club...

Good call Punk
If you look at most clubs who have a C grade, no matter how strong they will usually have a strong B grade aswell

Yeah for sure - both B's and C's are stronger this year, and its alway great to have some blokes miss out on getting a c grade game most weeks - obviously not for the blokes that miss out, but tends to put a bit of pressure on the other c graders, which means more at training and generally better results!!

I'm with you gtb, central united should get their asses kicked out for being such lame ass wanna be's. Any side that forfeits against a top side so they don't lose by as much should be strung up and have rocks thrown at them!! WEAK AS PISS....

You make a good point. I see a few sides have copped a hiding against he top side, but shite happens. If they have forfeited 3 times then out they go. Simple as that.

Flinders way too good on the weekend.Definate Grand Final side.Still think we can do some damage in the finals with our better side on the park.I would say there would be 7-8 players to come back in to the side. But time will tell.........

Fitzroy finished off the year with a win, time for me to relax now!

Central United sacked a C grade player at the end of the game on Sat.
He was just looking to start trouble all game, & when he got his chance, he actually blew it- tried to hit 1 of our blokes, misses, & then gets hit twice by our (smaller) guy.
Obligatory all-in brawl takes place, Umpire sends off 1 from each side.
Shook hands at the end of the game with everyone (aggressor included), then find out on the way to the change rooms they gave him the DCM (don't come monday).

Their (Central United) umpire is probably the best out of the opposition umpires, a top bloke.

Yeah we found flinders tobe the same - looks like we will have you boys in first round LK. Should be a good game - we got a few to come back too - hopefully they are back by then. We only played with 19 or 20 against Lutheran on Saturday. Usually that will change during finals. Heccies will certainly tell us where we are at this weekend!
