I think they'll be even better on a bigger ground.

No Mercy how did Stokesy go on the weekend? What about Walshy, Coardy and Marshall? I read last week that Marshall has qualified for super rules now...

Stokesy is dangerous but I reckon he would be as hard to read for his own players as he is for the opposition.

Did he used to play for Encounter Bay or Victor Harbour.

Athelstone v Broadview - close one
PHOS v Kilburn - not a close one
Flinders Pk v Payneham NU
Eastern Pk v Seaton

Looks like James Pinkney is named this week wonder how long till Fraser reappears?

I heard this morning he is playing in the 2s - maybe my sources are watching too many of my tricks and getting some payback

Fraser - a couple more weeks

Good luck to Baked bean "Andrew Mclean" aka the red dog in his last PNU game for the club tomorrow b4 returning to tassie to fight fires in a state where rain should do the job just fine. But seriously this man has been a great servant, a respected opponent, a good mentor to young fellas and a genuine humble nice guy. Champion bloke and a star player. The kind of guy even an opponent would like. Pnu wishes you and your family all the best. pretty sure Macca will not allow you to be sent off without singing cheer boys, cheer boys...one last time tomorrow.

Saw the first half of athelstone and Broadview, great half of footy I saw, lots of pressure all over the ground, Broadies missed 6 set shots in the 1st quarter, probably should have kicked 5 of them, Athelstones run off their half back line was sensational, from what I saw in 1 half of footy the better side on the day won

Encounter Bay under the guidance of Lindsay Bassani[/quote]

I met him at and end of year cricket trip down at Victor Harbour, got on with him really well, he stayed and partied with us at our hotel.

Can drink and imagine he could be a tad of a loose cannon despite the fact we had no problems with him, infact he came and watched one of our cricket games this year.

It's funny after that trip i always looked for his name in the paper and see how many 100's of goals (as he put it) that he kicked.

Apparently can play and can talk about himself

Good first half at EP today with EP 9 goals to 7 up on Seaton & also having the better end of the stick from the umpires with alot of (ticky touch) free's going there way, Stokes was onfire early with 5 first half goals for Seaton but that wouldn't stop the Parks from sustaining the pressure & stepping up the intensity in the 2nd half inparticular the 3rd qtr where EP kicked 12 goals to Seaton 1.
I cannot believe Seaton can drop off the way they did, they were smashed at the stoppages in the 3rd but it was their decision making when in posession that cost them, time & time again they turned the ball over with poor kicking & handballing to flat footed team-mates.
Overall Seaton have put themselves in a position of survival now with Flinders Pk beating Payenham, they have alot of work to do to not get relegated.
I must say the umpiring didn't cost Seaton the game today as Eastern Park were very good when they needed to be & Seaton should of learnt something from that but it was a very ordinary display by the maggots who at times seemed intimidated by the supporters.
P.S I can't say the umpiring didn't cost the Bs their game as it did, 3 blatant free's infront of goal go un-noticed inside Seatons 50 & yes it was their ( Eastern Pks ) umpire!

S%@t Just wrote a comprehensive write up of the game and lost internet connection here I go again..

No Mercy, not sure you were at the game, however here is my take on the game.....

First quarter saw Seaton dominate early with harder attack and greater intensity. Stokes with 4 first quarter goals a serious problem. Game evened out and EP went just ahead.

Second quarter was fairly even but EP kicked to a 2-3 goal lead. Seaton players battling very hard.

Third quarter from EP was the best quarter of footy I have seen. Harder, faster, better with Seaton players still trying hard. 12-13 goal quarter.

Fourth quarter the game was iced and had very little intensity. EP kicked 7 points in a row, Seaton kicked a few on the trot to make the scoreline looke more respectable. Seaton battled the game out well and Marshall's 4 last quarter goals made his otherwise ordinary day look very good ;)

Umpiring was poor very early on with neither side getting a better deal. Throughout the game they proved to be very consistent and reasonable. Some poor decisions (with two obvious "even up frre kicks)) but other than that were good.

P.S. Sorry I can't sleep, my daughter is sick and I am rambling

Furthermore, Stokes didn't look like getting a kick after half time and was a completely different player. He is brilliant. Always found a couple of metres of space on the lead and good hands but went missing (may also be due to the ball being nowhere near him in the third). On ballers go to him EVERY time.

Seaton to finish 7 or 8. Not a legitimate relegation threat. Young side with upside. If the kids take some out of Coardy and Heffernans book they will go ok in the next few years. Both were very good and Coardy seems to be becoming a true champion of the amatuer league. Degabrielle also very good (class act).

I'd say your post is very similar to mine Booza coz yes i was there, i thought Eastern Pk were magnificent in the 3rd qtr, i havn't seen a more dominant qtr like that for a long time, the umpires may well of evened things up later in the game which is normally the case but the chubbier umpire was a disgrace to be honest & i thought your boys got the better end of it from him in particular the 2 goals without the ball going back to the centre in the 3rd, how on earth you get another shot at goal for a late tackle is beyond me i mean i could understand if the infringement was after the goal was scored but it wasn't.
Alot of ticky touch unneccessary decisions were made at alot of centre bounces during the 3rd which resulted in you guys going forward quickly goaling & having the Seaton backs under the pump.
I must say you blokes played the better footy for longer periods & thats why you got the points.

Is it true Matty Paul from EP may have broke his ankle, just something i heard at the Red Lion last night. If it is true that will be a huge loss one would imagine.
