Alot of ticky touch unneccessary decisions were made at alot of centre bounces during the 3rd which resulted in you guys going forward quickly goaling & having the Seaton backs under the pump.
I must say you blokes played the better footy for longer periods & thats why you got the points.

ok the two goals were as a result of a very late bump after the ep player snapped a goal. not quite sure whether the ball had crossed the line but would have been very close. the cheap shot desrved another shot.
Harsh but fair.....

We kicked 3-10 to 2-1 in the second quarter. Could have iced the game by half time if we had kicked straight. Umpiring was terrible for both sides, have to say that i thought the Athelstone were pretty dirty, a lot of cheap shots thrown around the ground, umpires saw a couple from what i could tell but just warnings given. By the end of the game our boys were giving as good as they were receiving. Umpires had lost control. Our bad kicking cost us the game, would like to think that the return trip at our ground will be a big turn around.

In my experiences Athelstone have always been dirty, 2 times had to leave the ground with bad concussion from stray elbows off the ball was against the Raggies

Mate i love watchin a physical game anyday, nothing wrong with big hits and tackles, and some niggle. What i don't like are cheap shots and sniping. There is a difference in being tough. As i said, by the end of the game i saw a few of our lads throw some back cos they knew the umps had lost control.

Obviously you blokes will be doing a lot of goalkicking practice between now and then. I reckon 8 of those points in the second quarter came from 2 inside 50's, so you weren't that dominant.

As for cheap shots, the cheapest ones were coming from your ruckman, even had a shot at his own brother.

The funniest thing all day was captain Kevin Hopper's celebration of the first goal in the last quarter. Gave the big high five to Steve Harkin, missed his target and sconed poor Harks right on the snout. Umpy came over and sent Harks off for the blood rule. :D

Yeah Danny takes offence when blokes are getting whacked, he knows how to do it himself, as for his hit on his brother, i wouldn't expect anything else from those boys. Your CHF was worse, Funniest thing was when he gave our CHB and captain a punch in the jaw on the bottom of the pack infront of the your bench, copping an absolute mouthful from your coach. He then takes a mark infront of goal, shows our player the ball in his face, goes back, and kicks it out of bounds on the full from 30m out. Now that was funny.

Mate, I think you must have misread the 'showing the ball in his face'. There was a bloke running past looking for the give at the time and our CHF just motioned with the ball that maybe he could have given it off. He was then knocked from behind onto the ground and should have got a 25m penalty, but umpire decided to ignore it (they were terrible all day) and he had to kick from 40m out, agree the kick was a shocker though. Had a pretty good game otherwise.

From what I hear, the Pembroke Uni game was pretty amazing

I may get this wrong, because I was half gone when told, but the quarters were something like:

1st: Pembroke 2 Uni 0
2nd: Pembroke 0 Uni 8
3rd: Pembroke 6 Uni 0
4th: Pembroke 2 Uni 3

and Pembroke missed 4 sitters in the last quarter
dedja: Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Has Kilburn's jump to D2 finally caught up with them.
The C grade forfeited against PHOS and their b grade failed to score.

Are the committee regretting their choice to go up.

Is this might really going to hurt them and possibly a freefall to D4.

This post is not meant to denegate the hard working people of Kilburn but the choice could prove costly

They are obviously in for a hard year. If you take in to account the players they have lost the 2's is always going to be a struggle and our side is ok. The disappointment for them is probably the c's to forfeit at home is a bad one. I am sure that now it has happened the once they will get on top of it.

No Red Mclean and Louis Martin out for few weeks with a hammy. Heard they got a masive spray saturday and will be doing a fair bit of running this week on the track.

COuld be a tough few weeks coming up for Payneham......Norwood Union. Maybe the Bye is coming at a good time.

Are Seaton a legitimate chance to go down? Flinders finding form....Pembroke getting some players back.... Interesting three way battle for the second drop spot.

Someone had to go up & it could of been anyone of the other clubs, it may be a decision Kilburn regret right now but have to deal with it the best way they can.
I blame the League's handling of this, for leaving it so late in making the decision especially when Kilburn had done their recruiting based on the Division they thought they were in & that was Div3, its shown what a big jump it is D3 to D2 just ask SMOSH.
Its just exposed the League once again, how ordinary those people running the show are & how slow they are in making such important decisions.
No-doubt Kilburn were hoping to be back in Div1 within 3-5 years, this will set them back even longer.
