True champion of the game and probably the biggest legend of the club. That was back when we were a very strong club as well. Story of my life would be able to tell more.

Still watches and encourages from the hill on home games too.

He will tell you it's 15. Depends on the West End intake. Terrific bloke and a legend, sad part for me is that we played against each other.

good wrap up on a great club
they were right when they said that the club has come from its darkest days to be a success and like all saafl clubs, its the hard work done by the volunteers
mpfc has some of the hardest working people behind the scenes that make the club what it is
the biggest influence for the clubs is from the great ladies behind the scenes
they have a great bunch of wifes, girl friends and mums that help out more than alot of people relise
great club, great people and all the best for the rest of the year
and on a side note, their is no winner amongst the twins because both of them are the greatest and most loyal blokes you will ever meet
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

You are oh so right deeman. The one thing a new coach needs is off field support and the Lions have lots and it does include the other halves. So many people just continue to give to the club they love, seriously, it makes my job so much easier and I love them all dearly, as you did. Cheers, nice comments.

Nice, Chambo(in) and kicks 10. Vansoest(in), and Noske(in) and the gullies go on their merry way. Still the best team in Div 7 IMO.

Well done also to Modbury for continuing to develop their wealth of youth. They are coming along nicely with more and more game time against the men of Div 7. Small lapses in concentration cost them but they are going to be all the better for the experience.

apparently not losing a game doesn't make you the red hot faves... good deflecting though ;)

No not deflecting. We struggled to beat them last week with all their big names out. We have lost 3 gun midfielders to possible season ending injuries and our results reflect it. TTG are not you average C grade, with more than half their team ex Div 1 or Div 2 players. Never mind Henley who have just as many. Undefeated looks good but I dont think we are the best team in the comp at the moment.

SAAFL Division 7 & D7R (2012)

Postby Bigshow82 » Sun Jul 22, 2012 1:53 am

Wow!! Is all I can say about Henley today. Kept with them in the first, blown away in the 2nd and 3rd but a 6 goal to 1 last quarter made the game look closer than it possibly should have been. I guess it may be a race of 3 at this point??

Yeah, reco next monday. Plus Daishy in the dugout with a plate in his jaw and Mazey with his arm in plaster. Might be a couple of tough weeks at the den against North Pines and the mighty Henley. At least we are in a position to have a look at some kids in the ressies.

You've got a pretty stable footing at the top of the table Yank Man. I would say top spot is wrapped up even if you dropped a couple of games late (pretty unlikely) and your team would probably be better for it.

It was a great game with Flinders Park on Saturday. At times it felt like we should be losing because they were running all over us. Unfortunately they weren't rewarded for their efforts. They hit us hard all day and I'm sure there are a few other sore bodies (besides mine) in the gullies side this week.

But that means the poor runner has to play in the magoos, and he is completely past it.

Tough physical team Flinders Pk. Did the same to us as well Haynzy and the scoreboard didn't do them justice in our game either. With 4 games to go and a 4 game plus percentage, yes top spot is sealed for us and dropping a game or 2 won't hurt.
Henley look to be the shakers and movers, Angle Vale can pressure them for third spot and North Pines look good to seal 5th spot with the draw they have. Flinders Pk might just miss out unless they claim some scalps, Shoc have won the last couple and can't be ruled out just yet and Modbury have improved a lot since our last outing. Should be some very competitive games in the lead up to finals.

After this week you would think the race for fifth spot would be wide open. Us, SHOC, Flinders Park or Modbury will all be on the same wins.
