I know you're hating this FC but it wouldn't kill Edwardstown to let the SAAFL know one way or the other, it really is a pain in the ass for the clubs who don't know what division they're in yet. I know they don't have to officially nominate until October 31, but a little courtesy wouldn't go astray.

And if they're so sure they're going, then they should be able to tell the league without any reservations shouldn't they?

Regardless, even if they did notify before OCtober 31 (which chances are they have if it's a goer, It's not going to make the league bring out the divs for 2009 any quicker.. in fact it will probably take longer with all the fart assing around they have to do to fill the voids..

Thanks for that Nearly Was.

I know it won't make the league move any quicker FC, but if became official (with maybe Edwardstown releasing a statement, or something in the Messnger, anything), at least us, Unley, Kenilworth and Brahma Lodge will know what division we're in, regardless of the Div 7 situation with Ovingham and North Pines. Hard to talk a couple of guys into pulling on your gurnsey when you can't tell them what division you're playing in.

I've got no idea. You'd need to watch a lot of SFL games to get a picture.

This is from this weeks SAAFL Newsletter 23rd October.

"Clubs shifting to another League

We were recently advised that Edwardstown FC would like to move to the Southern Football
League. When a club moves from one league to another, it must make application to the
Affiliated Leagues and the Investigation Committee makes a ruling. At the moment, the matter
rests with the Affiliated Leagues and clubs will be informed once a ruling is made.
When a club leaves for whatever reason, the promotion and relegation system works in the
following way. The team finishing 9 th in that division where the club leaves and all divisions
below it is offered the opportunity to remain in the higher division. In effect, below division 2,
there would be 2 teams promoted and one team relegated should Edwardstown move to the
Southern FL."

Does anyone know how often requests to move leagues are knocked back by the Affiliated Leagues? Aren't Ramco and Robertstown going through the same thing at the minute?

But it's a hot-topic in today's football world FC. If The Footy Show was still on I'm sure Hutchy would be all over it!
