whats the news out at smithies LM? most of your blokes hanging around? how are the younger lads looking that played seniors in the second half of 2008?

a spy tells me that the numbers and size of players at plympton pre season have both been pretty significant. they'll be very hard to beat this year.

Rosewater is my smokey in this grade, they've done some very smart recruiting in the off season and I think they will surprise quite a few.

No major headlines sprinter, a couple in, a couple out. Most of the same playing group, the younger lads are looking good, a bit of filling out happening, hopefully those young fellas can take an extra step this season, some of them were only 16 last year and performed well.

not sure on 16 year olds doing much, as the younger players tend to have more ups and downs then the more older or senior players. had the same problem at plympton whilst i was there, the younger players were outstanding one week, then never got near it the following

No mate, we had about 8 sixteen to 18 year olds that were the catylists for form revival, most of them polled in the association and they never shirked any issues, they are good , hard versatile players that will only get better with the A Grade games that they have under their belt already.

At least 6 of them were within the first ten players written on the teamsheet each week and most of them have been chased hard by clubs from the Barossa, they grew up with us, they play for their jumper and they have some great mentors around the place to look up to.

Are you trying to get Bradman back for talking you guys up, there was a lot of talk early last year on how Rosies looked, smokey is a very fitting term though, they are a team that can never be under-estimated, you could be on to something there.

 not at all LM...they recruited incredibly well, a few former Div 1 players who have still got it along with a very fit looking Mail Medallist who I think will win the Div 5 medal and also a certain Div 7 team of the year Full Back, they're my favourites!

It's true I hear he's shed quite a bit off his playing weight last year and is doing a hell of a lot of extra fitness work in his own time....definately a medal chance!

How do you rate the performance? Will Ingle Farm be competitive in your mind across all three sides?
