$5 at Athelstone, with about a ten minute wait for service. I only went in to have a look around their clubrooms, I had beers in my esky, I wont do that again.

player payments turk..tbh i dont know if that figure is totally correct but many have mentioned it on here and i know the pokies club does provide some of it..35k is also the salary cap

as i have said before..if you can get it then good luck to you, we are only jealous we cant get it ! :)..greenacres is a proud club and i think with nafc supporting you, you will rise quickly in the divisions again

and yeah arts steak sandies are awesome :)

turk..its the amount of money a saafl team is allowed to pay to its players(might include coach as well, not sure)..a token gesture to try and uphold the "amateurism" of the league..we will never ever see any club brought to task over it unless a heap of players from the same club all signed stat decs and declared it..

Zed.. the $35k figure is nowhere near the mark for club income let alone player payments...in fact the club receives no direct income from the pokies despite all the banter.. and we pay our own way when it comes to oval hire and the like..there is no hand out from Norths or the council when it comes to paying for all the things that run a footy club.. believe it or not..your choice.

We have great sponsors and good people at all levels within the club....

Played with a bloke last year who is involved with North said that a fairly large sum off money was given the greenies to get them moving up the divisions.. :? :?

Turk, my info is that you do get a handout from NAFC , what happens with it is your business. My mail is $50K a season.

Players get a $25 card with each win from the NAFC part of the club. If they win 15 games that works out to be a touch under $8k. I'm sure there's more. To argue that you'd let another club takeover your football club to build a pokie palace and receive nothing in return is ludicrous.

turk, we can agree to disagree on the $ amount involved and the amount of backing by the nafc thats fine..it doesnt diminish from anything your players may achieve this year from my perspective, take everything you can get..

Thx Demonseye...I think I need a steel helmet to go with that trench.

No arguement about the club not surviving without help.. I guess we had 2 choices at the time 1. let a club with plenty of history and tradition fold and have plenty of sympathy from the rest of the SAAFL clubs (haha) or 2. Hook up with North's and ensure the clubs survival and growth for a lot of years, but in doing so have to put up with envy, and jealousy from the rest of the SAAFL clubs.. tough choice ... what would all of you done under the circumstances

Captain your mail must come by "pony Express"

Kookas.. have a teaspoon of cement with your breakfast

Whats the problem with Greenies and pokie money..plenty of other clubs in the area have pokies Gepps,Gaza and yes Shrek even Kilburn
and they prop up these clubs with the the income from pokies.. I think there are some double standards at work here.

And Shrek..read my post and comment about what I said....not what you thought I was trying to say..glass houses and all that

Why do these so called Kilburn players keep getting rubished because they left a footy club to play somewhere else. All they are guilty of is a group of mates who wanted to play together but not at Kilburn.. get over it guys and perhaps give them a little credit for their performances...

no problems and nothing against these kilburn players moving to greenies. just trying to prove that when you have money, and or given money then you can get players. greenies were nothing last year. yes won a few games but nothing like this year. proving that since all this money they have and or been given then they are a force. plympton whom i play for ( well use to ) stopped paying players over 10 years ago and they have built a good side doing it the ' hard' way. not the easy way out like some clubs going around. i have nothing to do with greenies or will never so dont know what the situation is down there but it seems all this money they have been given or what eva is doing it for them.

Kilburn A Grade 2007. 18-1-17 record.

Bulldog... Greenies have been involved with North's for about 4 years now.. there has been no sudden inflow of cash this year..the money was around last year as well..as I said in an earlier post cash does not = sucess. Well done to your club on making a tough decision and sticking by it

Turk, you guys should have told North to stick their money where the sun don't shine, then all of the other clubs wouldn't complain.

I wish you guys all the best, it would be great if more league clubs put something back into local footy, apparently there is a huge amount of funds that some major footballing body is sitting on collecting interest which is supposed to go back to grassroots, I know for sure that we havent seen any of it.

Greenies conduct has been a major improvement over the last few years, a heap of your guys came into our club and had a few beers and stayed for a while earlier in the year, even after a loss, there seems to be a good bunch of blokes out there.
