Scotch nearly caused the upset of the round. IMO they were the better side for most of the day. scores close all day with no more than 2 goals separating both sides. Well done an "honorable" loss. But very dissappointed in the clubs attitude after the game, we gave Heardy 30 tickets for the players and coaches to come in for a drink. Only Heardy and the trainer made the effort, and to top things off we found the tickets thrown on the change room floor after the game. I know the players would have been upset but show some heart and come in and have a beer.

In reference to scotch throwing tickets on floor it was misundertstood as they were actually handed back to Para hills club officials and told thanks but had to go to a hotel this was my misunderstanding and i personally aplogise to Scotch and their officials on this matter.

I did hear something about them recruiting 2 brothers, whose names escape me but are believed to be the Grandsons of the great Len Fitzgerald.

Dont quote me on that though.

Good win by SMOSH.

We kept them in it with some disgusting kicking for goal thorughtout the game. Very good second half after letting ourselves down in the first half wiht a bit of laziness and some particularly poor skills.

Lukey doesn't mind a goal. Not a big fan of the handball though.

Very surprising scoreline at Scotch. They were horrible when we played them so something msut have changed in 4 weeks. credit I guess, but they'd love a result soon.

Fair smashing Pag? Didn't see it getting that ugly...

Another 'respectable' effort by us, but still no points :(

SPOC are a pretty good side, Coppings is a class above - looks like he is only in first gear !!! Once again, we played 3 quarters of ok footy, but 10-15 minutes lapse in 3rd quarter cost us dearly. I think SPOC kicked 4-5 goals in this time. Game was pretty close up until then, we led just before half-time.

Full credit to the SPOC supporters too, all planted themselves around by our clubrooms and were very vocal, along with our mob. Made for a great atmosphere down the clubroom end, and spent plenty of money at our BBQ and bar. Much better than some other clubs supporters form of 'hiding' around behind their own coaches box. Only downer was not a single SPOC player came in for a drink after, but im guessing they had a function on as they all took off pretty quick.

We have played 4 of the top 5 sides so far - been a tough welcome to D3, but some good signs since the first round debacle.

Very interesting result with PH and Scotch - PH the best side we have played by a fair way i think, followed by SMOSH.

The question is.................after 5 minutes, is the reason they are 4 of the top 5 sides BECAUSE they have played Portland? Think about it............it ain't rocket science.

I thought it was a bit strange. The bloke who found them wouldn't have said a word, and he would have been fighting off the RSL boys for them if he got there a minute late

Good on you for giving out the tickets to the opposition team though - good form

I take it blackcat will be doing a few hundred extra laps at training tomorrow night.....

Could be the case, but they have only played us once each - still each had to play 3 other sides.

Are you saying that SMOSH, Walkies and SPOC are only in the top 5 because they played us, and they dont deserve to be in there ?
