Massive game at Perteringa this week. TTG vs Henley could determine who gets the Double Chance.

I would imagine they both would. Might be playing for a home final more likely.

Mate, we've got more injuries than we've got players so unfortunately a 'forfeit' is the only thing we can do. Not the ideal situation but it happens to the best of clubs, a fact of life.

Goodwood v SHOC - I think this game will be closer than most people think. 11-20
T T Gully v Henley - Big chance for T T Gully & the double chance. 21-30
Salis Nth v Gaza - not convinced with the Hawks.
Port Dist v Rostrevor - Good rivalry game this one, Dist in a close one. 1-10
Gepps Cross v Modbury - In some trouble Gepps & a big chance Modbury. 11-20

Have seen it happen before. The paid players come in, the loyal locals leave and when injuries hit the proverbial hits the fan.

Good call. Mine too.

well macca, if you did not win the div 1 medal in 2007 by a long way, then you can never really predict what the umpires will pick ;)

Mate, there's not a lot you haven't seen by all reports. Is that what's happened down at Lionel Avenue?
It must be an incredible feeling knowing everything about every club and what goes on, maybe a bit dumb like the different names you bring to the table every so often.
You should pay Uni's a surcharge for using the guy's name, you couldn't blow wind up Bob Neill's ar$e.

Hit the nail on the head, who knows what the umpires will pick, they can't at times make a rational decision let alone asign votes to who really deserve it, makes a farce of the whole association medal IMO, have seen to many undeserving recipiants over the years.

Far too abusive too ever get votes
Some ump's are good, some bad. Couple this year are terrible (for all teams).

Brunoli was awesome against us. We really should have tagged him.
My advice for anyone playing gullies - tag Brunoli and Culpitt. They will still get plenty, but there needs to be pressure on their disposal as their footskills to their forwards were great. Lace out so often.

Tips - SHOC (upset) Rostrevor, Gepps, Henley (Titanic struggle), Gaza - but who knows, anyone can beat anyone this year ....

yeah it's a bit unfortunate because there have been some very deserving winners, but the prestige of the award can be lost when you see how some players get votes from umpires in games they shouldn't.
maybe a change in the way its conducted. players or coaches votes perhaps on opposition players could work. i know in the afl the players mvp is becoming a bigger and bigger thing as players would prefer to be judged by their piers rather than an umpire that has probably never played the game before.
maybe this topic deserves its own thread.

i think ben was brilliant that year. had no complaints at all that he won. i'm just bias towards macca because i played with him and saw him every week. but ben was awsome both times we played broadies that year. and i had him as one of my 3 choices to win it.
but you would have to agree though that it can make the win slightly more hollow when you see how some of the vote are given. as unfair as it is for the deserving winner, al la ben casey.

Yes it was back to their best footy in the second half today. Modbury kept it tight in the first half but a bit of class came to the fore after halftime.
Coxy's 60+ metre torpedo goal brought some cheers, let me tell you. It was a beauty! Long live the "barrel"
