So why can't you just leave at that and leave the gutter trash out of it? There's nothing wrong with rivallry between clubs, but that was just trashy!

Its a shame you cant add 2007 to your list of rooster premierships there Ian

Who do I/We say mean things about?
We have great respect for all junior footy clubs.
Remember an average sized club, 200 kids, has to care for more players than FOUR AFL clubs, and all voluntarily. Although, I have to say that some AFL players need more care than the average 6 year old!
The opposition club most admired by me and most at Gepps Cross is Fitzroy. Walkies do a great job too. Gullies always seem to have good admin and kids, as do Modbury. One or two clubs, who shall remain nameless, were pretty good too until the last couple of years but they are slipping into 'feraldom'. A few others have to look at their admin and coaches or the future for them is bleak. Whether we like it or not, political correctness is ruling everything and most parents simply want their kids to have fun and be treated fairly, unlike the old days when it was all agression, screaming, abuse and behind the play hits.

Much as it pains me after our Grand Final loss the clubs from the Centrals area had, from memory no official complaints lodged. I may be wrong there but the umpires director, who still umpires the littleys told me that of all the charges reported they were all from existing NEMJFA clubs.
I just sent a pm to smac about another issue & was telling him about Eastern Parks 15's. Bloody monster side but play it fair, one of their 9 footers ran through my lad with a fair hip & shoulder, knocked him seven shades of shit outer him but stopped, picked him up & did'nt leave his side until help arrived. You don't see that too often.
Another game at Geppys one of my under 9's went down in a screaming heap (as they do) & the Gepps manager was over with a bag of ice before I'd returned to the boundry line.
As much as we love to bemoan our woes with junior footy & opposition clubs, some things make the effort worth it.
Hey soccer you owe us 45million.

Sheik, there were some very serious issues with a couple of the Northern Teams. Pines Under 16's prelim final V Broadies is one example, an Association official attacked at a game between 2 other Northern teams is another. That official quit NEMJFA over that issue. Apart from an U/16 match V Pines, could have got very nasty, we didn't have any problems with the Northern teams. Had some great U/13 games against E. Park They were pretty good people. Interesting that the only U/13 game that was a problem, and a very big one, was against a more local club with many players who had come from...guess - North Pines.

Yeah, remembered Pines after I posted. For some reason I still rank them in NEMJFA.

Yes, well there are 6 CDJFL clubs in NEMJFA's Under 14's, 15's & 16's this year, including Pines. Not all of these clubs will have a team in those 3 grades though. I the CDJFL has made giant strides in the last couple of years in terms of playing in the right spirit and are well managed. There's one NEMJFA club which is probably worse than the Northern clubs ever were.

Still welcome all boys aged 5 to 16 and girls aged 5 to 11 as most age groups still have vacancies. 18's are filling up quickly.

Forgot Salisbury. Only our Under 15's played them last year and the coach, players and officials from Salisbury were a credit to their club. A few other clubs out that way should follow their example!

Will pass that message on Pearcey as I know the Under 15 coach and some parents from that team pretty well.

Any clubs outside of NEMJFA wanting trial games for Under 11's to Under 16's on March 30, either at Gepps or your oval, please call me on 0403-759073.

We've stitched Flinders Park up for those dates.
You could try Ian on this site who's son plays at Lockleys.
Problem with the western league is that they only go 10's12's14's16's.

At this stage it looks as though the Under 11's to 15's will play Salisbury on 30th March at Gepps X. Need a trial for the 16's, though.

I took jnr to trianing Fri night, looks like that could be changing, sounds like they are trying to add a couple extras (club was notified last Tues).
It sounds like the league wants to add a 11's & 13's to the current 8's 9's 10's 12's 14's 16's, as long as at least 4 clubs can get the numbers it should be a goer.
Looks like we have the numbers already for 13's, but we may now have to do a bit of scouting around to fill the 14's, with only 14 or 15 registered as of last Friday.

I think we are playing trials against West Croydon on April 6th.

I heard tonight that the required number of clubs is 6, not 4 to get the additional grades up and running. 11's shouldn't be a problem, as they plan to basically split the 12's into 2 divisions, the stronger clubs with enough players for 2 sides in the current 2 year format will play in div 1, the sides that traditionaly struggle for numbers and succes will have their 12's play against the stronger clubs 11's.

Have heard on the grapevine that the AFL is pushing for NO club V club footy for kids until they turn 7. Some states have adopted this. Also tackling rules are to be modified for the older age groups.
In 2004 NEMJFA introduced an Under 6's comp for kids turning 5 & 6. This was one of the best junior footy innovations ever.
Some kids, now under 10's, from our original Under 6 squad are way ahead of Auskick kids and kids who started as 7 or 8 year olds.
Nothing wrong with Auskick, it's a great money spinner for the AFL and teaches the basics, but it can be too basic for a naturally gifted kid.

The recent heatwave has certainly set most clubs back a couple of weeks. None of our teams have trained for two weeks but, hopefully, will be back on the track from Wednesday.
I've heard that some clubs or teams have been training through the heat, contrary to NEMJFA & SANFL policy.
I also believe that many clubs second ovals, i.e. school ovals, will be unavailable due to lack of maintainance and grass! Some ovals are just rock hard dirt!
The squeeze will be on for oval space when the season starts in just three weeks.

(S)aintbackline, perhaps you could get the manager of your beautifully appointed clubrooms to call K. F., and give him a few pointers????
Maybe you youself, could discuss a subject close to your heart with K.F.----(DISCIPLINE).

Oh well, another week till registration day on Feb 10th!

Oh Bravo there Pearcy
Now all you got to do is get rid of KF and the seniors might get some where

That's an interesting statement from someone who got a premiership medal for playing almost a half of footy b4 being sent off for the rest of the game due to lack of self discipline. I must also add you didn't air your displeasure about KF until after you left the club, another gutsy effort Crusty!!!!

Good luck with your coaching career, trust you do a great job of instilling discipline into your players, hopefully they don't turn out like you.

Did you question the guy that posted the original, Saintbackliner, who made a disparraging comment about a person known as KF? Maybe you should read it, I find it amusing that this guy who has zero self discipline himself can expect others to "do as I say, not as I do"!

No double standards I'm afraid
