When will it end?
Maybe all players should hold off a little as Darren Mead apparently has a second interview with North Adelaide.
Sounds promising for Darren getting a second interview.

Apparently Mead pushed the older brother to play the rest of the game after breaking his jaw in the first quarter. When it came out he needed surgery and a plate put in Mead showed no remorse.
& it involves the Dad being banned from the club for life(allegedly)

not sure about the dad being banned for life, he was seen at the club with the boys having their end of season drinks on sat. Funny enough the coach wasn't invited.

Take a close look at your club Footballfollower, the brains trust there would have spent what Gepps and Sals North spent combined (on players)this season. You, along with a lot of other people really have to look at just how Gepps and Sals North run thier opperations. I can only speak for Gepps, and with 15 employees, not much left out of the proceeds from 8 pokies to give to players.footballfollower wrote:Commonly know also in the market, they have been offered $500 a game
I think where they are going will be the next Salisbury North/Gepps Cross club who pay out the big bucks

both Sals North and Gepps Cross have a strong committment to a solid junior programme, something your club has in recent times completely ignored. WHEN IN A GLASS HOUSE, DONT THROW STONES!

You are a nong! I don't recognise this years GX team at all from the one that was in div 2 a couple of years ago. Where did all the players come from? Juniors? Ha ha ha. The juniors might be productive for you guys in a few more years but don't tell me your current crop came from there. If GX doesn't have money from 8 pokies, how does Kilburn have money from 4? You also have a TAB.

Those 4 little machines must have been working overtime to make what you spent this year or did you snip a bit off one of your grants. If, as you suggest, the proceeds from 4 pokies gave you this financial bonanza, why then did you sell two?Bubbula wrote:The Big Shrek wrote:EB53 wrote:Take a close look at your club Footballfollower, the brains trust there would have spent what Gepps and Sals North spent combined (on players)this season. Gepps did not offer nor would they offer $500 thats a fact! The point I was making ,is that just because a club is successful and has pokies, doesn't mean they spent large amounts of money puting a team together. Perhaps your club overspent in the wrong areas and on reflection should have spent that money or some of it on a junior programme for both football and cricket. If you think I am a "NONG" for my direction, call me a nong all day!The Big Shrek wrote:We weren't talking about Kilburn, plenty has been said about that already.
The comment was GX have offered $500 a game. You said(or at the very least implied strongly) that this wasn't how GX ran their operations. You also said that your club didn't have enough money to do this based on the number of pokie machines, then accused a club with less pokies and no TAB of spending twice as much money as you(assuming SN and GX pay the same).
Here's the problems with what you said:
How does a club with half the number of pokies spend twice the amount of money? Or do you accept income is not dependant on pokies and there are more important sources. If you accept this then your comment about not having the money to pay players has no force.
How did you get all these new players without paying them?

Keep avoiding the point buddy. How else could your current side have been put together? Walker, Challen, Campbell all on the big $$$. What about your two ruckmen, I'm sure they would have got offered plenty elsewhere but went to Gepps. Even the local boys Clonan and Smith get well looked after.
Yes Gepps does have a good junior program and have taken advantage of the Northgate development. Yes Kilburn need to look at juniors. These are completely different issues.
Bottom line: GX will throw money around untill the cows come home.
