Sprtsbeat is bloody awful & so is the radio show.
Have seen email sent by footy budget people to discuss with Shadiac how to save the clubs money with the budget, you are right "its all smoke & mirrors". Shadiac either does not send a reply back or just says "we will have a review".
Who is doing the review? Him i guess!
Is there any Shadiac will ever sit down & talk properly with the footy budget people?
They have asked to talk sensibly with him but he just does not reply.
The clubs have to force him to save them money, NOT JUST DO WHATS GOOD FOR MR SHADIAC.
Either that or get rid of him.

Hey there is heaps of writers in the footy budget & they are all keen about doing it again next year plus a heap more want to write columns.
That budget is the best read on Amateur Football.
The clubs have reacted Shadiac, they want an answer now, not wait for another 3-6 mths time like we've been used to seeing & nothing eventuate.
Some people like to be organised to HELP CLUBS in this League plan for next year.

Sorry folks, I forgot something important. The fees for 2009 will NOT increase and nothing can be done about gradings etc until after Feb 20th .

The Exe was asked are we in a contract with sportsbeat for season 2009.
The response was that Sportsbeat will stay for another year as advised by Shadiac last night. It is not a written contract but a verbal one for season 2009.

The reason why the Exe won't entertain the Footy Budget is due that some of the sponsors in the mag are in direct conflict with the SAAFL sponsors.

Thus endeth the lesson.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Have proof that it is not true. Have several letters sent by the Footy Budget people to Shadiac in September. The writers of the Budget have all been sent copies of letters sent to Shadiac and Co all the way through so that no lies can be told. Think that this time the CEO would not want to come out with any porkies as there is a mountain of evidence to prove he is not telling the truth - Will PM you a copy of the letters Fourth Estate and then comment. If anyone wants some transcripts from some of the writers just PM me and will send. - That will show who is telling the truth

The footy budget is the best read on a friday afternoon to gear up for the weekend games. The SAAFL is going to spend up to $10k to do a media reveiw, waste of money. Shadiac and co keep it simple with 2 ways of the media outlet. TV with Grassroots and Website with the footy budget where the clubs can print off copies and leave it in there clubrooms for other people to read if they dont have access to the net.

The SAAFL also wasted up to $15k on a junior football reveiw, all they are worried about with junior football is to make sure they keep on getting there money for drafted players who dont ever play senior football for the club.

Apart from the "main man" there are only 3 other employees so the chief would be on $100K +
Now that is just plain dumb, don't you think?

So does the Sportsbeat actually cost the league money? That is ridiculous considering the budget made $26k. Obviously this may reduce if it was done in conjunction with the league because of sponsor overlap but if it's distribution was increased maybe more could increase.

I feel sorry for the guy doing the sportsbeat. Is it the same guy who does the TV show? He does a fantastic job with that. Maybe they should put him with a team of people working together rather than throwing him to the wolves and expecting him to write about 6 divisions.

Every game needs a budget. It makes it a much better viewing experience when you know who each player is. Not to mention some info about each team and an insight into the history and culture of the league which the budget provided. What a fabulous advertisment for the league the budget could be if it was widely distributed and made bigger and better.

At the moment, apart from Grassroots the league is portrayed like a Sunday mixed netball comp, rather than the strongest football league in the state.

Hosie is unlikely to do the budget next year because of all the bullshit. It's time for Shadiac to look for reasons to make the budget work rather than picking holes in it. Lots of e-mails of support were sent to Hosie, maybe they should all be CC'd to Shadiac.
