otherwise B graders will be paying to have blokes on $300 a week, and personally I dont think its fair on the blokes that just want to have a social kick and catch!
remember a club isnt a business it is an organisation!
if the club finishes the season and they arent in debt then I think they should look at it as a good season!
Fisty, sorry to disagree but most footy clubs are a 'business' nowadays with the amount of money that's turned over.
When you are paying the SAAFL what they require plus umpires plus equipment plus medical plus players plus jumpers,socks,shorts,trainers, trophies etc. you may be surprised at what the amount your club turn over is. Yes, you recoup some of this money and I do agree that if you finish at break even you've done well.
A 'rule of thumb' amount to put a team on the park in Div 1,2 or 3 is around $220 per player
