I know a few of the Ex Centrals boys are being well looked after with $, not judging as we have copped flak for years about the issue. just saying that its taken us a few yrs to get that tag off our playing group and having ppl there for the right reasons its amazing how it yields better results too. oh, and i couldnt compare to Pauline in the looks department.. how funny was it near the end of the trial when one of your key players held the ball up in the air (darryl White like) to celebrate winning a trial? Small redemtion for last yrs Prelim?

i dont think Stengle is the only ex centrals player. Wasnt talkin about one person. He looks like he moves well though. handy pick up. Good get. Hope all the ring ins can cover the loss of an absolute legend.. no doubt Roey will pluck every ounce of ability out of his group

All three blokes mentioned will be very good players in div 1 from what i seen sat night!!!
Officer moves very well and I think Hudson was the big bloke who kicked a few goals.
Stengle looked good across half back. Again the money issue will forever in a day come up
maybe we should just look at how the blokes go. On what i seen they are going to be a handful for most teams!!!!

FS, you know sfa obviously.
I get more than that and I only put the padding on the goals posts at home games.

Whatever you've been told and it doesn't matter by whom, just double it then take away the number you first thought of, kick the cat in the ar$e and you're probably close to the mark.

He's on about the same as Reevesy was when he left Gepps to go to Broadies the first time.

I think you'll find the player who held the ball aloft was Joel Campbell, I reckon he was very concerned that no 11 from S/North was going to come back onto the ground and eat it!

Funniest thing i have heard all day thanks for that i needed a laugh. How the hell can Modbury be in the same boat as those teams?
- We havent played div 1 for How Long???
- We have all but 3-5 players in the A grade who didnt play juniors for the club or have played atleast 3 years at Modbury before season 2008 and 09
- We arnt paying 1 player in season 2009

If we dont make the grade cos we didnt have the cash to spend then so be it.....

Not at all mate not at all..... i think we will be competative but our aim is to stay up and build from there if that means play finals then so be it. What i am saying is that we havent gone out and spent money on players to make us premiership contenders the first year we are in div 1.

I just cant wait for the footy to start to be honest

FS, if you continually take things seriously, honest mate, you won't cut the mustard!

Not sure how long you've been at Modbury but I was giving you a subtle, tongue in cheek reminder about what happened with Modbury a few years ago when they forgot to pay their call on time, beat Gepps in a game then had the points taken away from them.
All hell cut loose at your end, Frenchie called for a Royal Commission, the local council went on strike and the politician of the day, Trish Draper was summonsed back from one of her overseas jaunts with her new boyfriend to facilitate a meeting between the SAAFL and the Modbury Sporting Club.

Do you reckon that wasn't a drama, caused because you didn't have a computer at the club so we wouldn't expect you to pay players if you can't afford a computer!

Sorry aceman i miss understood your use of the word "calls" etc in that sentance.... I have been at Modbury 22 years and yes i now understand what you said. All is forgiven and forgotten at Modbury after that little miss hap and it wont happen again because yes we have invested in a computer ;)

cover the loss of an absolute legend

I presume you are meaning Peter Smith with this quote!

It's a pity but not really in the 'legend' category. Great footballer who played a lot of fantastic games for Gepps Cross, however, he bailed out twice from the club chasing the extra coin, forgetting conveniently of course, just how many times the club actually 'bailed him out" of predicaments.
Loyalty is a two way street, some people forget that and can only travel one way, their way!

i cant comment on his personal life and dont think its appropriate on a public website but i guess with all the recruits you will be able to cover for the 40 - 50 goals a year as well as a good opposition player to tag. definately one of the leagues finest for a long periiod. playing against him and with him for a while leads me to believe he is in that category.Im sure i would have a fair few other current "players" and not spectators agreeing with me.
